Are the Freeps Pissed at the Right People?
I had a thought the other day and I thought I'd toss it in to see what comes of it...

Support for the Iraq war has dropped, correct?

Now, I was never convinced of a connection between 9/11 and Iraq and didn't support the invasion of Iraq. However, MANY Americans believed and still believe that there was such a connection - either out of ignorance or because Bush told them there was and they are good Republicans.

So as I see it, there are at least two distinct groups now.

People like me who supported the invasion of Afghanistan in retaliation for 9/11. (Please DUers, don't get hung up on this point, it's minor relative to my big point.) We want to defend this country and that means going after the ACTUAL bad guys. Iraq was not involved in 9/11. We do not support the Iraq war.

Then there are the people who believed and still believe that we invaded Afghanistan AND Iraq in retaliation for 9/11. Iraq is the ACTUAL bad guy to them. But, some no longer support the Iraq war.

Who should the Freeps be pissed at? People like me who want to defend this nation by attacking our actual enemies and thus opposed the invasion OR people who, it seems, believe Iraq was involved but have for one reason or another decided it's not worth it and are now opposed to it?

The Freeps should be pissed that those individuals have no stomach to fight - they agree Iraq is the enemy but now want to leave. I never thought Iraq was the enemy.

Thoughts?

1. They oughta be pissed at the frickin liars who told 'em Iraq was involved
and who sent their menial jobs to fucking India, and took their taxes and gave them to their rich buddies, and took their pensions, and their health care and let their gas go up to $3 a gallon. But they won't. Most of them don't know the difference between Afghanistan and Iraq, or Lebanon, or Egypt for that matter. To them a raghead is a raghead and we should just kill all of them. If they were gonna be pissed at people who had no stomach to fight they should first look at gw (Awol National Guardsman) bush or penis (5 deferments) cheney.

2. Those motherfuckers oughta get their sorry asses down to the
Army recruiting station. Free republic members are pencil dicked cowards. Ignorant pencil dicked cowards. They have no appreciation for constitutional liberties therefore they do not deserve constitutional liberties. The cowards at free republic should be air dropped into the Sunni Triangle with their flags and their magnets. They are responsible for the deaths of our kids in Iraq and Afghanistan and if they are the badass "conservatives" they blather on about, then pulling their weight and doing their part instead of partying on weekends should not be a problem. This country has been dragged down by "conservatives" for more then 200 years now, and they are so fucking proud of their work.

4. no longer a supporter...

I'm not sure what a "freep" is so I can't comment there.
I no longer am a supporter of this war in Iraq.

I have given the Bush Administration every benefit of a doubt I could possibly muster up. I have exhausted all efforts in trying to give the man credit.

I am a moderate Libertarian male, 41 years of age & I hate jumping to premature conclusions. Not for fear of being wrong in an argument, but only in a desire to do what's right.

I will do my part in voting these Bush-like thinkers out of office. Whoever our next President is, I will back them up as long as they are doing what is right for America.

One last note, if this war is so moral, why doesn't Bush's daughters sign up? To this last question, I can't get a good answer out of Iraq War supporters.

Thanks for your time, Jay.

5. Welcome jamonee
The reason the Drunk twins won't sign up to go is simple - they spring from the loins of aristocracy. They NEVER go - at least not without a lot of cameras in tow to chronicle their paper-shuffling or potato-peeling military duties.

6. welcome to du
got some of those libertarian leanings myself, but badnarick didn't stand a chance, until we get people to open up the political process in america, we have to do all we can to prevent the ones dedicated to closing it down from winning.
