"Talk Hard" and..."Pump Up the Volume" |

Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 11:25 PM by MissMarple
So...I like Christian Slater.
It's all good.
And, if you are wondering why this is in GDP...you haven't seen the movie.
It's about the control of the air waves....we own them, if we can keep them. And who controls the air waves,... controls us.
Carry on.....

2. I'm Out Of The Loop Here... Must Have Missed Something... |

but I've always been one of Slater's fans, even though he has one of those "bad boy" reputations! But then, I'm fond of Russell Crowe and Johnny Depp too! Three of my very favorites!
What did I miss?? DU was really buzzing tonight and it was very hard to get connected!! I consider myself lucky to have posted 2 times earlier!

watch everything Christian Slater does. Must have missed it, but if it's PPV from 1990 must have been a better movie. PPV's aren't usually that old.
Another good movie was The Siege, I saw it recently with Denzel Washington, Annette Bening and Bruce Willis. Made in 1998, the parallels to 9/11 are very close. The guy who wrote it just wrote the book "The Looming Tower" his name is Lawrence Wright. I missed him on Book Notes, but was impressed by the movie when I saw it AFTER 9/11! Of course the movie showed Willis as a "military" activist who rounded up all people of ethnic origin and put them in cages in NYC. Tony Shaloub was in it too!

7. The Denzel /Willis movie was chilling. |

And, have you seen Kuffs? Light, but...hummm...;). He's cute, personable, smart, and perhaps...somewhat conflicted. Well, we all have our problems. Additionally, I really like Tony Shaloub.

11. I Started Watching Monk Just This Past Year When I Found |
|
out that his character and I share the same illness. It's a very "crazy" illness must tell you and one that is manageable but no curable. Each OCD patient has their own "patterns" for wont of a better word, but his show is a peek into something that seems almost unbelievable to understand.
Having done extensive research about the disease I have come to a place where I can control it to some extent without having to take the extensive medication I once did. I hated the medicine and felt it may have helped with the idiosyncrasies, but was detrimental to both your kidneys and liver. So I have managed to reduce my medication intake to a minimal amount.
I can't say that most OCD people have as many hang-ups as Monk does, but was glad to see some attention given to this disease. It's very difficult for many to understand, especially those who are close to you. My husband still doesn't fully understand it's scope.
But I've gotten off topic... I do wonder why you don't care for Russell Crowe very much. I think he's a bit of a jerk personally, but his acting is superb IMO.
Sorry for the late reply... it was very late here and I was getting really tired.

And, of course, Heathers.

Having said that...it is a movie with cogent and topical political issues, however the mods might decide.
