I was going over this in my mind a bit, and I realized something pretty funny.
On the Today show, Matt Lauer was grilling * on torture techniques like waterboarding, and * was saying we won't discuss any techniques because the enemy will adapt.
And I was running that through my mind, and thinking to myself, what does he mean by adapt, does he mean they'll grow gills or something?
What a moronic thing to say. Does he even listen to the questions asked, or does he just say what's next on his talking point list.
I laugh at those people who think the President isn't dumb. Yes, he's that dumb!

3. Current White House Rhetorical (Avoidance) Tactic |

Cheney pulled the same phrases on Tweety on Sunday... can't/won't talk about, uh, techniques (never mention the word torture) because they will adapt... (sure they will). Just a way to clam up without saying the words "no comment" which sound 'guilty'.

4. Of course they will adapt. |
|
Any enemy will. The Germans and Japanese did during WWII. Using "the enemy will adapt" rational is a bit like saying; "the paint will be a different color once it dries".
You can be taught to resist torture, but in the end you will either break or die.
As for "I laugh at those people who think the President isn't dumb. Yes, he's that dumb!":
It's not the President that's dumb, it's the people that hear that, nod their heads, and agree that are the real dummies.
