My response to the Democrats are just as bad as Republicans

I said that I don't want to hear that-it's baloney. FDR won the war against Hitler, his WPA built
roads, libraries and dams across this country that are still in use. The Dems brought us
social security and put a man on the moon. This just as bad speech is a ploy to get us to
accept the mediocre people we have now that don't do the job they are sworn to do. A
politican should not have a bailbondsman on speed dial. That is what passes for nomal
nowadays. And what about James Webb that used to be a Republican, former Secretary to
the Navy and a Vietnam vet who was liked by Ronald Reagan; should he be spit on now that he is running as a Democrat. Answer (Well, no.....) Well, I said, start judging the best person
running and don't judge them by the R after their name that is what is wrecking this country.

the after-school programs, the teachers, the working poor, the uninsured, the city governments, our ally nations, etc....

If the Dems WERE the same as the GOPs, the BIG corporations wouldn't be spending so much to defeat them.

3. I don't think historical comparisons are applicable in this situation

When people say things like this what they're really saying is invariably, "They're all crooked!" Well, you and I know that's not true, but I think if you want to more effectively counter this meme you need to bring up three to five examples of solid things that Democrats have done for us lately that Republicans have either fought against or would never have done on their own.

However, your acknowledgment that there are good Republicans too is a big positive, especially when talking to someone who is moderate to moderately right. I would keep that in there.
