Conversation with a possible freeper? |
|
A Co-worker of mine mentioned how a cashier at a supermarket tried to tell him how horrible Bush was. He said that he had no idea how the conversation started but the cashier was adamant on getting her point across. Knowing my co-worker, he is usually the one who talks and talks and talks. I have a feeling he got into a political discussion with the cashier and wouldn't let the cashier get a word in. Just my Humble opinion.
So I said "Bush is horrible"
As the conversation goes, another co-worker and I agree that Bush is the worst president.
The Co-worker goes on, stating he has two things that prove bush is not the worst president.
Back when he was in Bosnia, a soldier shot himself. He says that this soldier had his 3rd tour of duty. He was lookinig forward to a good retirement package, he missed his wife..etc.
The soldier and a female soldier went somewhere to do their business. While this was happening, they were patroling and using the infered/night glasses and saw something going on and caught the two in the act.
He went on tht because of this, he lost his retirement, he lost his wife, he lost his kids, Meanwhile, Clinton was reporting that he did not have sexual relations.
The story was actually longer than that but I wanted to keep it brief. At the end of the story, just as I was going to say something, another co-worker called out that it has nothing to do with Bush being a horrible president.
The only thing I kept thinking of during the story was "Bush is a horrible president", yet, the freepers will blame Clinton for everything. Even a guy who missed his wife (yet had an adulterous affair).

4. Exactly. Freeper mantra: "Do as I say, not as I do." |
|
You can choke on the hypocrisy. And they just can't see it. They are held to a different standard in their own mind then everyone else is.
Freepers can have adulterous affairs, but not you.
Freepers can lie, steal, kill, but not anyone else.
Freepers can tell others they're wrong to want to live their lives a certain way, even attempt to legislate their beliefs, but no one else has that right.
It's incredible.

2. The important difference is, had the soldier been serving... |
|
...under Bush, he wouldn't have had a good retirement package to look forward to.

3. Never heard of this before |
|
My first and usually only required retort to apocryphal stories from Freepers is "prove it." Who did this happen to? When did he get shot? What were his specific injuries? Where does this guy live? You have a story you can link to?
The more specifics you ask for, the less the story holds together. And it happens every time.
And, even assuming for the sake of argument that this story is 100% true, what does it have to do with the wasting of thousands of lives and billions of tax dollars by George W. Bush?

5. Just say you have a story |
|
about two people who joined the National Guard.
One skipped out of duty and avoided being sent to Vietnam. He later became President and sent the other one to Iraq.

Damn. That was a story ABC could have used in their "docudrama"! There is hope for a part 3 now.

8. It just makes you think... |
|
Am I normal? or is the other person normal?
I think I'm normal, so people who think this way are abnormal. From what I have been seeing is a good deal of abnormal behavior.
It's scary...

Not bloody likely unless he volunteered for it.

10. That's what I was thinking |

I didn't think the war was that long since by the time of the Lewinski scandal, hadn't we pulled out by that time?
