I'm one of em.
When he stood on the pile with his arm around that firefighter and said "we are going to get the people who knocked these buildings down" I was 100% with him, and most Dems I know felt that way too. It was powerful moment of shared grief and determination. It was exactly what the country needed to hear at exactly the right moment.For a brief moment everyone was with him and now it looks as if we were all a bunch of saps.

its a sad commentary.
