Bill Clinton "Freaks Out" ... This is great. I'm not fond of the title,
but at least he's defending himself. If Kerry had done this a couple of times, he'd be president right now!

4. Not at all. Even Drudge has this headlined. Everyone respects
Clinton because of this kind of forceful self defense. If we can get some office-holding Dems with this kind of informed passion it would be truly miraculous. I can't wait to see the rest of the interview.

9. If Clinton was actually running the spin would be that he's so touchy

about his failures that he explodes at the mere mention of them.

And the segment would have been editted to reflect that storyline. This is not the same media climate from 1992. It's far more corporate and BLATANTLY so.

And shouldn't Clinton have put up a forceful defense of those charges back when they were made in books that came out in 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004?

He chose not to then, and every Dem candidate running in 2002 and 2004 was labeled with the Dems are weak on terror meme thanks to his silence. He was so silent, ABC decided they could get away with using the lies in the book as their storyline.

So, what if Clinton HAD put up a forceful dfense back when those books came out and the harges were flying in all of the media?

That was great, I can't wait to see the rest of the interview. It doesn't get much better than that.

5. "I tried and failed, they didn't even try."
That just about sums up the George&Co's response to the early days of what would become the war on terra. They weren't engaged. Clueless. Still living in the early 90's. Dinosaurs, quite tragically so.

7. Frankly, Kerry is far better when angry than Clinton here
- Remember Kerry's absolute slam of Senator Allard. He threw the Senate rukes at him, then challanged both parts of Allard's claim - that Bush made good decisions on Iraq and that Kerry was playing politics (being against the war.)

Remember in the week before the election - when Kerry went after Bush for sending troops to Bagdad to secure the oil ministry building, but failing to secure the ammo dumps - that the US knew the location of and which had been guarded by the IEAE (UN inspectors- not sure of initials) before the war and which were being turned into IEDs that were killing "our kids."

In either example (or the 1971 statement), Kerry remained perfectly in control and focused, listing fact after fact after fact. (I've argued with people who blow up and I;ve argued with people who remain in control - frankly the latter is very hard to beat - and they come off looking better than you.

8. Strength, not hysteria. That's what made Clinton one of our greatest
presidents.

10. Argh, if Clinton had done this in 2001
Kerry would be President right now. One person cannot stand up against the assault on 8 years of Bill and 4 years of Hillary positioning for her own 8 years.

I'm glad he FINALLY did it, but we would be in a much better position if he'd done this 5 years ago instead of advising Hillary to go down the WMD war path on Iraq - and staying there to this day which is STILL the problem we have in this party.

11. Screw um
They have little green men sitting around in windowless rooms thinking up nasty headlines for Democrats. Most especially for Bill Clinton.
