Top Five Reasons not to vote GOP?
If a conservative -- the kind with an SUV showing "support our troops" and "bush cheney 04" bumper stickers -- came up to you on the street and ask for five reasons NOT to vote GOP in this year's midterms, what would you tell him?

3. One of them is the environment. Republicans are notorious for their
complete disregard for the environment. A big case in point is their refusal to believe in global warming. What is the benefit of refusing to accept what most specials agree on? You can justify your destructive behaviors that's what.

2. The Republicans are short sighted. Today's personal profit is all that matters.
3. The GOP wants to do away with Social Security and Medicare.
4. The GOP does not support American workers.
5. The Republicans stopped looking for the culprits of 9/11.

But here are my top 5

1. "War on Terror" has gone totally awry (disastrous war in the wrong country, disgraced America by sanctioning torture, illegally spied on Americans, and didn't catch-Bin Laden)
2. GOP is preparing to start another, even more dangerous war, in Iran
3. Tax giveaways to the rich while running up a $9 trillion deficit that your children will have to pay off
4. Bush and his minions allowed a major American city to die, and they let their business cronies dictate their response to the climate change that makes such disasters more frequent and severe
5. With the worst president ever in office, we can't afford a Congress that rubber-stamps his every whim and many misdeeds, even making retroactive laws to legalize his crimes

Hey, the liberal light is always on at the Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy. Please stop by and say "hi!"

of about 2700 reasons. Or whatever number the death toll in this war is up to.

8. The GOP needs to become conservative again
Bush is not a conservative. He is a radical right winger.

Barry Goldwater was a conservative. He believed in small government, fiscal responsibility, personal freedom and civil liberties. Although I am a progressive, I share some of those sentiments.

In fact, I share more of them than Bush. Bush has increased the size of the federal government, has failed to bring spending in line with revenue after cutting taxes, butted in the on the family affairs of one Michael Schiavo, and indiscriminantly checks on to whom you and I have been making phone calls. There is nothing conservative about any of that.
