"make me your beneficiary". This is now my response to any |
|
person gullible enough to drink the fool-ade and sign up for the military these days. no argument, no attempts at persuasion. just "make sure you take out the insurance, and be sure to make me your beneficiary. I can use the money."

if one of us dies in a military operation that you agree with, can our family keep the money or do you still want it? Here is an idea. There is absolutely nothing preventing you from going to Iraq as part of a UN sponsored operation, say Doctors without borders or UNICEF. You can volunteer your knowledge, expertise and help end the strife over there. And, you may even earn a buck or two.
Hell, here is a better idea. The stuff going on in Da fur right now with all the genocidal killings going on requires a lot of international help. Go there and volunteer. At least the people joining the military are doing what they feel they have to do and is right, calling them kool aid drinking fools and not getting called on it makes you a fool-ade.

but I do believe that we need to be there, that we need to be more aggressive against the terrorist, not easier. Is that a bad thing?

We who broke Iraq are not the ones to fix it.

This sounds like the tired talking point "Fight them over there, so we don't have to blah, blah, blah."
Your President is a giggling murderer.
He took us to war based on lies, fabrication, and fantasy.
And you are OK with this?
Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Thery were not an eminent threat.
Do you have any other talking points you would like to share, or should we all just put another Yellow Magnet on our SUV's and proclaim ourselves Patriots and Good Germa, um, I mean Good Americans?

seeing that I have already done 30 years in the navy, and have been plenty of places in that 30 years for plenty of presidents, I will leave it to younger folks, what were you doing during that 30 years I was wearing the uniform? Oh, and before you pontificate on how easy the navy life is, I was a HM, NEC of 8404. Most of the time wearing green with the FMF. Do your own research.

13. Oh, here it comes. S.S., D.D. |

Many, many, many persons now serving in Iraq and Afghanistan already served in other places and other times. Why not you? Please get to Iraq now--hurry, or we may have to fight them over here!

We do not need to be there. We do not need to be "more aggressive" against "the terrorist" (whoever the fuck that is).
BTW, please make me your life insurance beneficiary when you enlist. I'm sure you're on your way down to the enlistment office right now, since you seem to feel so strongly on the issue.
But, please, replace that "we" with "I". Speak for yourself. Just say "I need to be there".

not the one calling people that join up kool aid drinkers and asking for benefits if they die. You have disagreement with the warm fine, To say that people making a decision that many are unwilling to do at anytime, are fools show you for what you are, at least to me. Fixing the problem is going to require that we get people elected. Doing that is a lot tougher when people can point to posts calling thier kids stupid for putting on the uniform.

14. It IS stpuid to "put on a uniform" in these times. I do my best to |
|
try to dissuade all young people I know from joining IN THESE TIMES. I don't have to say much; most of them have more sense.
It is a great thing to serve one's country; it is a suicidal exercise in futility to sign up now and end up serving soulless, stateless, scumbags (such as the BFEE) when one is fooled into thinking he/she is "serving my country".
When are you shipping out to Iraq or to Iran?

bad for pointing out that this illegal, unjust and immoral war is a bad idea, and people should NOT be willing to enable it by signing up when it has been proven to be based on a lie.
just for your information, oh mighty warrior, I come from a military background as well, and, quite frankly, having spent the last 30 years of my life trying to fix the broken people who have come home from the LAST two illegal, unjust and immoral wars, I am TIRED. I didn't want to have to keep doing this, but I don't have a choice. so can your bloody, self-indulgent self-righteousness. I KNOW what the hell I am talking about--been there, still there, done that, saw the movie, bought the shirt. get over yourself.
