Tin Foil Hat Time .... Repugs in Ohio asking voters to vote absentee |
|
Why?
Maybe my tin foil bonnet is too tight but this could be used to explain why the exit polls showed the dems winning but then the repugs got more votes.
MUST BE ALL THOSE ABSENTEE VOTES
Deb Pryce's (R bush boot licker OH) people are asking voters to vote absentee in phone calls now. Something doesn't past the smell test.

1. I would guess because the nation and the law is looking at |
|
the machines now and they will be unable to do some of the tricky shit they did last time....not having enough machines in certain areas....bullying voters.....etc....

2. Of course it smells...they'll vote absentee now, clear the absentee list |
|
and then the same people will be allowed to vote again come November because they're names won't be marked already voted.

3. I thought I'd read that in many states, absentee ballots are counted last- |
|
and sometimes not at all. Also stories about absentee ballots being "too damaged" to count, or simply missing. I think the Rethugs know the vote won't go their way without a lot of interference, and Diebold, of course. I know, due to Diebold, many voters were counting on voting using absentee ballots. Now Ohio ("ground zero of voting machine corruption") Rethugs are asking people to vote absentee? On the face of it, it's certainly easy to say, if the Rethugs recommend it, run the other way. All I can think is, they know they don't have a close enough margin to plausibly steal the election, so are counting on absentee ballots, which, from what I've read, are indeed "absentee" when it comes to being counted. I.e., they'll count only the ballots from Rethug areas; the absentee ballots from heavily Dem areas will be found too damaged to count, or simply won't be found at all.

4. I think they're jumping on this bandwagon so they can say |
|
"look, we're woried about the Dems stealing the election too!"

5. I'm working in Iowa... |
|
...to encourage Democrats to vote absentee.
We're doing this to ensure that "marginal" voters--people who haven't voted consistently in the past---get their votes in. We flag Dems who usually don't vote during non-presidential years and we strongly urge them to vote absentee.
Many people who are disabled, without transportation or facing other obstacles might not make it to the polls on election day. Absentee voting ensures more people in our party can vote.
Each party does the same thing. They call people, mail out absentee ballots and follow up with these voters to ensure that their ballots were mailed back. I was just certified as an absentee ballot courier, so we will pick up a ballot at a person's home and get it to the auditor.
I understand your skepticism. If Reps are encouraging absentee voting, it makes me wonder if they're doing this because they know there will be trouble at the polls and with the machines. You never know with these weasels. However, both parties push heavily for absentee voting---especially with their fair-weather voters who might otherwise not vote.
That's why we have to get the Dems to the polls on election day! They're doing this stuff, so we must too!

8. The repugs mine the absentee ballots for votes |
|
They love the inactive voters lists, so that they can request ballots for people who haven't voted in a few years and vote for them. They also like to 'help' people vote absentee, especially in the poor black neighborhoods where they prey upon elderly people who are illiterate. Just sign the dotted line and we'll take care of everything for you.
EARLY VOTING in person is the BEST WAY TO VOTE.

10. I just requested an absentee ballot in Ohio, the reason |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 06:08 PM by doc03
is they have closed many voting locations in this area. In my county our largest town has around 6000 people they have gone from 7 voting locations to 1, this is going to be a mess on election day. I live in a rural area and we are going from 4 locations to 1, some people have to travel 6 miles to vote. The excuse the Election Board has come up with is it will save $20000. The Election Board is 50/50 Democrat and Republican. This same thing is happening in many counties in eastern Ohio which is generally Democratic. I have heard nobody complaining about it other than 1 of our county Commissioners. I can't understand why the Democratic party isn't all over this!

12. You are right about that |
|
Get in the wrong line and you won't be able to vote. After standing for an hour already, do you think you will happily go to the back of another line. I didn't even mention the parking mess.
