Ladies and Gentlemen: President Edwards!- CounterPunch article
Edited on Fri Feb-06-04 10:42 PM by Virgil
This article was written by Cockburn and St. Clair. This article says Edwards wants to end NAFTA. Has he always said this or is this something new? This is the first time I have heard that. The guys on the PBS Newshour say there is almost no difference between Kerry and Edwards, but NAFTA is a big deal to me. I would state Clark's position if on NAFTA if I knew it. DK of course was the only candidate that I knew before Edwards that called for ending NAFTA. It is a good article- http://www.counterpunch.org/cockburn02052004.html

1. Yes, John Edwards opposes "Free Trade" that's not also "Fair Trade."

2. A good article but hard on all our candidates,

taking each to task for his failings in his campaign and/ or in his policies.

It provides a relief from all the puffpieces pumping the candidates up to be the answer to all of humanity's problems.

My only complaint is that they somehow left Dennis Kucinich's position on medical marijuana out of their discussion of that issue. DK, of course, supports medical marijuana and would decriminalize recreational use as well. Their criticisms of his campaign may be warranted; I don't have evidence to refute them. But I was surprised that they didn't mention him as the one candidate who would decriminalize marijuana for medical or recreational use.
