2. Well, ummm, Edwards isn't Jewish, not a guitar player.....

Not sure about the surfing, but he is a lawyer! Oh yeah, I'm pretty sure he isn't a Lesbian either. Although he represented several during his law career.

Isn't that enough?

LOL! I'm so begging for support.

3. Hey me too!
What are the odds of that.

Seriously, I don't know that I've ever had a candidate I was even 80% in synch with.

7. You know, I suppoted Kosovo because a friend of mine is Bosnian
I respect those that didn't back it, but I have to say, I would give 10 million dollars if Iraq had turned out even 10% as good as the whole Kosovo thing did.

for not calling me a Milosevic sympahizer. I as I mentioned have ties to that region, my relatives who are Slovenes thank god werent involved. A good friend of mine is Serbian so I know about what happened but thanks for respecting me and my opinion. I dont like Milosevic. Its hard to say why I opposed but I did.

10. Well, in hindsight, that tended to work out
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 12:49 AM by sgr2
While there was definitely loss of life during the Kosovo conflict. My Bosnian friend had told me of what happened in Bosnia (His family fled to Germany and eventually the USA).

In the end, we stopped the same thing from happening in Kosovo, overthrew Milosovic, got a semi-democracy (Still corrupted but better... not bloodthirsty) in Serbia and Milosevic is on trial. There's a reason why Clinton went to Kosovo and 50K turned up at the airport.

Honestly, I think Clinton could go to Serbia and he'd be cheered.

Anyways, I've been trying to think a lot more about how I talk to people on these boards. The natural reaction is to flame and fight. But would I do that in-person? Definitely not. I just like to talk politics and life.

Basically, we're cool!

13. It is used some folks
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 01:38 AM by D G
who insist the Democratic nominee not only perfectly reflect their views on every issue, but also be a superhero who boosts their self-esteem and validates their feelings, before they will vote for them.

Also, that candidate must be good in bed. ;)

14. That makes you a younger, or a better person than I am.
I was an infant when JFK was shot. I never thought I would see and believe, never see anyone of his character in my own life.

I met General Wesley Clark for the first time on the tarmac of a tiny airport in Iowa. I told him I was part of the draft movement and he hugged me.

The best.......... the very best aspects of a person who would be a four star general are apparent all over him. The surprising thing is, is what he is not. He is not stiff, he is not superior or aloof or arrogant. He is none of those things.

General Clark was enthusiastic and genuine and warm.

15. Similar to when I met Edwards
Edited on Sat Feb-07-04 03:23 AM by sgr2
But he reminded me of RFK, not JFK. This was back last summer. He shook my hand with his right, put his left hand on my back, and in response to a "How do you think you can win?" question, he said:

"I'll never give up, that's how."

EDIT: I am younger than you, but I'm a politico, and I've seen dozens of RFK videos.
