It is time to call for Hastert's resignation |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-29-06 09:06 PM by MN Against Bush
Hastert not only covered up for and protected a man he knew was illegally soliciting teenage boys online, but he allowed that man to sit as the Chairman of the House Caucus for Missing and Exploited Children. There were other Republicans who knew as well, and everyone of them needs to resign to.
They went after Clinton for doing something which would have been perfectly legal had they not been putting him under oath and forcing him to testify about matters which were of no relevance to the case at hand in the first place.
What Foley did and Hastert helped cover up was clearly illegal. Democrats listen up, these are the people who are preaching to us constantly about our morals while allowing a man to sit on a House caucus who was soliciting young boys. As a member of Congress Foley was a very powerful person, and no doubt the boys he was talking to knew that. That makes his crime even worse.
The Democrats need to be loud about this, Dennis Hastert needs to resign.
I want to hear every Republican asked if they can defend Hastert's covering up for Foley, and they need to be asked whether they think Hastert should resign as well.
If they want to lecture us about our values then they better be able to explain their own.

1. and our fellw citizens vote for these people? |
|
How many pro-torture, pro-abuse people live in the "good ole USA"?
"Wink wink, know what I mean?" Is that the mantra of Hastert and the rest of them?
Sorry, I'm having a hard time dealing with all this shit.

9. You call them citizens |
|
These things aren't citizens. A citizen would adhere to the constitutionality of the nation, a citizen wouldn't allow him or herself be brainwashed so easily, a citizen would not be in denial to truth and facts, a citizen wouldn't see reality and twist it into a lie, a citizen acknowledge that 1+1 still equals "TWO". No-o-o these aren't citizens, these are ALIENS of another world.

3. Yes, as one in line for the presidency, Hastert should resign |
|
I am very disgusted he knew this abuse of minors was taking place and did nothing. Zilch.
He cared more about power than our children.

5. I agree - they were even warning the pages about Foley! |
|
This story needs to be tied together to show how the Republican leadership in Congress KNEW what Foley was doing, but did nothing to stop him. How sick is it that they "warned" the pages? I would like to have a transcript of that orientation!
Hypocritical, lying bastards.

6. i`m at ground zero of the 14th district and believe me |
|
i am really pissed off because rahm and his boys decided that duckworth was more important than the 14th and did nothing to help defeat denny. hastret won`t resign and he will be voted back in. the only hope i have is that the dems take the house and he won`t be the speaker again. that`s all i`ll say cause if i posted what i think i`d get yelled at...

7. Would it help to email CNN or other media and ask why |
|
Foley was allowed to remain on the committee? If other members knew this was going on, why didn't someone step forward earlier. They surely knew it would come to light, eventually. Looks like aiding and abetting if they didn't call him on it.
As a great grandmother (who just finished reading the instant message going around), I say it's past time to expose these pedophiles and clean house. (No pun intended.)
We need to demand our children are protected.
