Has the fight for the House turned a page...... |
|
We shall no in about six weeks...
But I am curious as to why Foley choose today to resign from congress...
What motivated him and the House leadership to pick today, after 3:00, to decide to terminate a congressional career...
Do they have more on this guy...
Are they trying to take attention away from the Woodward Book, the Intelligence Report, or the Torture Bill....

2. The timing does seem a bit odd....... |
|
Was he up for re-election?
I wonder what will happen with his now-vacant seat?
Seems to me that Friday afternoon is often the time that explosive news is announced.....
In the apparent hope that no-one will notice it.......in the rush to get away for the weekend.....
Perhaps he is the sacrificial lamb for the other topics you mentioned....
To draw their fire, perhaps?
Too many questions........too few answers.....

7. He was up for reelection (like everyone in the House) |
|
Last I heard, his name must stay on the ballot, and if he wins, Jeb chooses his replacement, if he loses, then we take the seat.

ABC forced him into this. It was carefully orchestrated.

4. I say this as a former page... |
|
for the Ohio House....
We were all college aged and I think that is a much better situation than to have high school aged kids running around all those sex crazed republicans...

6. I don't think anything is going to take away from Woodward's book. |
|
I heard, or read, that Foley thought more was going to come out about his im's, so he decided to cut his losses. I think the bigger story is going to be why Hastert and others covered it up for a year.
