DLC's Will Marshall versus General John Abizaid - you decide
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 12:32 PM by welshTerrier2
this is taken from an article linked to on the DLC's homepage ... the ultimately horror is that it's pompously entitled "Reclaiming the Democratic Agenda ... yeah, right ... whatever you say Will ...

source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/05/21/AR2006052101182.html
(DLC homepage link: http://www.dlc.org/ (Reclaiming the Democratic Agenda))

(Will Marshall wrote):
"The fact that President Bush and his team have mismanaged virtually every aspect of postwar reconstruction does not justify an immediate or precipitous withdrawal," they say. "Instead we should rally the American people for an extended and robust security and reconstruction presence."

Are those Democrats talking? Yes, indeed: Marshall's group also has ideas on how Democrats can build stronger ties to the Republican-dominated military, revitalize NATO and the United Nations, and reverse Bush's tax cuts in order to modernize and expand the Army. Don't be surprised if, after all the Internet noise fades away, such ideas are at the center of the next presidential campaign.

here's some noise Will: FUCK YOU you undemocratic asshole!!! what you call NOISE, I call the opinions of DEMOCRATS!!! btw, Will, that's an overwhelming majority of Democrats ... we do not want an "extended presence" ... got that???!!!

now, according to Woodward's new book entitled "I turned into an asshole but felt guilty enough to finally tell the truth", here's what General John Abizaid had to say about US withdrawal from Iraq back in 2005:

Woodward quotes Iraq war commander Gen. John Abizaid telling two retired generals in 2005, “We’ve got to get the (expletive) out.”

What do you think the expletive was? Here are some choices ... make sure you choose the right one so that Will Marshall, the right-wing DLC war hawk, can hear you:

a. FUCK
b. FUCK
c. FUCK
d. FUCK

3. The DLC lost control of the megaphone
a long time ago. The DLC establishment relied on the old media and old manner of underachieving. The DLC underestimated the rise of the Left and the Liberal Blogosphere and sought to ridicule it, minimize it and to fight it. They brought wet spaghetti and dry powder to take on angry, pissed off ex-military and avid proponents of get the hell out of Iraq. The DLC will not recover but will stay in its same homeostasis of making grand pronouncements that get laughed at and shrugged off as soon as they are made. Not one of the DLC pissants wrote a book that has captured the public (Beinart, Marshall etc.)or inspired ideas. They can not admit they where wholesale wrong and morally disingenuous, so the DLC keeps putting frosted Bush/Cheney ruby red lipstick on every psuedo national security pig before them.

When Hillary has to hire Blogger help and runs from Terry McAwful for announcing his new role a little early, even their marquee player realizes times have changed. The organization her husband helped found is off talking to the republican NYC mayor to interfere in Hill's run, it means they are in the true last throes. The loss of their tax exempt status and having no prestige to get candidates elected this year renders them ineffective and irrelevant. Torture supporter Joe lieberman is doing the DLC proud!

4. Electing democrats is now my SECONDARY goal
as a democrat.

The majority of my time will now be spent working towards
rooting out dlc democrats in my state after the midterms.

No.joke.

5. Ya, cause half a trillion dollars a year is not enough...
Not to worry though, I'm sure the DLC cheerleaders will have some reason why we are just too stupid to see how great they really are... :eyes:

8. well said!!
when are they going to realize that, whether they agree with us or not, WE ARE PART OF THE PARTY!!!

it never ceases to amaze me that certain party elite think it's OK to attack bloggers ... first of all, we are not all the same with the exact same opinions ... secondly, many of us are very active and carry substantial influence in our communities and in our peer groups ... and thirdly, if they don't work with us, they should understand that we will be forced to work against them ...

online activists are demanding a voice in the decision making process both inside the party and as citizens of the country ... the online community demonstrates some of the best qualities of democracy: a high level of citizen interest, piles of mostly good information being distributed to all, and online and "real world" activism ... why the hell should we let anyone paint us as evil?

it's the same with some in the MSM ... maybe they're worried about having to share the spotlight ... who gave journalists and talking heads the sole right to express their opinions?????

worst of all, to have a Democrat disparage the democratic (small "d") exchange of ideas is the most abhorrent of all ... Will Marshall is a total disgrace ... fade away? hah! someone's going to fade away when what he's been peddling is exposed for the divisive, destructive BS it really is ... see ya, Willie boy ... maybe you can join up with Lieberman's new party ...
