Suicide attacks used to be rare in Afghanistan...
<snip> KABUL (Reuters) - A suicide bomber blew himself up outside the Interior Ministry in Kabul on Saturday, killing 12 people and wounding 42.

Police had tried to stop the man, a witness said.

"It was a tall, fat guy. Police tried to stop him but he got away from them and ran toward the entrance and blew himself up among the people,"

Taliban insurgents have been putting up fierce resistance in battles with foreign and government troops in the countryside. Suicide attacks used to be rare in Afghanistan but there have been about 70 since January last year, most on foreign and government forces. About 200 people have been killed, most of them civilians.

1. The Taliban had pretty good control of the potential
suicide bombers. Heck, they used to have training camps for these guys along with various other specialties of jihadists.

It's not much of a surprise that however the Taliban lost power the weapon of choice, the suicide bomber, especially trained to attack those hard-to-reach civilians, would not be long in making their presence known.

4. You like to pretend the US doesn't target civilians, don't you?
Remember the bombing of Kabul and Baghdad?
