OH HELL YEAH!!! Laesch Goes For JUGULAR Against HASTERT Re: Foley!!!!!!!!!
Edited on Sat Sep-30-06 08:53 PM by Beetwasher
John Laesch is running against Hastert in Il. The Foley Sex scandal can very well (and most definitely should) put this seat in play.

Laesch goes for the jugular and wastes no time. See his Kos post here:

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/9/30/212758/946

--snip--

Apparently proactive in Washington means waiting 11 months...

Exactly one month ago today Dennis Hastert made the front page of the Kane County Chronicle, a local paper, that covered Dennis Hastert's town hall forum on Internet safety.

Protecting children is OK for Dennis Hastert when it is earning him votes, but he doesn't give a damn when it is a page working on Capital Hill.

The fact that Hastert tried to cover this up is reason enough for him to resign.

7. Foley cut and run. He wasn't willing to stand up for his party's values.

Denny needs to resign to "spend more time with his Doritos".

6. Here a little story about this Navy Vet Running against Hastert
John was a intell officer under Clinton hunting Bin -Laden. When he came home his Brother ask him to run against Hastert. John at first said no. But John Brother was sent to Iraq. John is anti-war and has always said so. His Brother is in Iraq right now . Peter Laesch has left with a new baby at home. John been working hard against Hastert and was even swiftboated by the Replugs. He will not run from this fight and never has. DCCC made promises but so far none kept. I support this man with my heart, money and do what I can to help like make issue signs for him paid for by vets. Replugs left without passing a budget for veterans. I posted my rant right above this one. But hey guys if you can help please do. Think about this taking down the Replug Speaker would be huge and now it can be done.

22. That was before he was allowing Pedophiles in Congress
That is not something that sits too well with voters. Remember DeLay's district was very safe Republican until very recently, and he was never accused of enabling pedophiles. He was accused of many other terrible things, but there is not much that disgusts people more than pedophiles.

Hastert is in trouble.

who postponed the date the House went back into session in January -- in the hope that Tom DeLay could resolve his difficulties and remain in his position as chief armtwister.

25. I forwarded this ad idea posted by Chris Day on Daily KOS...
To Laesch's campaign and media coordianators;
Black screen.

Voice: What do you call a man who uses the power of his office to protect a sexual predator preying on teenage boys?

Voice: Speaker of the House and Congressman from Illinois Denny Hastert.

Image: Grainy unflattering B&W video images of Hastert zooming in on his eyes whenever they shift. Dissonant background music.

Voice: For over a year, your congressman, Republican Denny Hastert, was aware of fellow Republican Flordia congressman Foley's attempts to seduce a sixteen year old male congressional page over the internet, but Hastert did nothing.

Instead of informing the appropriate authorities, Hastert sought only to minimize the damage to his party.

Denny Hastert talks tough about sexual predators on the internet, but when they are members of his party in congress he protects them.

Would Denny Hastert have acted this way if the boy was HIS son?

Would Denny Hastert have acted this way if the boy was YOUR son?

Image: Longshot of unidentifiable students hanging out outside a high school.

Denny Hastert had a responsibility to protect the teenage boys and girls who work in the halls of Congress. Denny Hastert had a responsibility to properly investigate and act to stop a sexual predator.

Denny Haster failed to fulfill these basic responsibilities and instead protected congressman Foley.

On November 7 you have a responsibility to all the young victims of sexual predators to vote Denny Haster out of office.

*ad approval language*

27. This should be in all the IL papers
not just Kos. I sure hope it gets picked up by many, many papers otherwise it's just another case of preaching to the choir -- it's nice, but won't do the voters of Illinois much good unless it's disseminated, and yes exploited (as it should rightly be) widely.
