I guess the good thing about killing the constitution is people are too absorbed to notice what else they are pushing through...

2. 'United States of North America' on CNN
CNN Transcript of Lou Dobbs:

There's new evidence tonight that the United States, Mexico and Canada are trying to move forward with the proposal that critics call the United States of North America. Public interest group, Judicial Watch, today released newly uncovered Commerce Department documents that prove the United States, Mexico and Canada are moving ahead with a, quote, "security and prosperity partnership of North America."

The goal of the partnership is to, quote, "harmonize" relations between all three countries -- or among all three countries, if you prefer. According to these documents, North American political leaders have heard recommendations from business leaders of the so- called North American Competitivist (sic) Council, and among their recommendations, integrating the Mexican and United States power grids, and allowing citizens from all North American countries to move freely across North America, even if they lack documentation. One presumes legal and lawful documentation.

The council says anyone showing up on the border without proper documentation should merely be, quote "educated bout their options and be allowed to pass", end quote.

Among the companies with representatives on this North American Competitivist (sic) Council, Wal-Mart, UPS, FedEx, Chevron, Lockheed and that's just naming a few of them.

4. That's exactly the one I heard talk about it!

Thank you for the link. I wasn't watching at the time, just listening as I was browsing DU. I personally am disturbed about this. I remember reading a book written by an evangelical writer about the "end times". This was YEARS ago ( about 20) and he said that this , along with the "united States of Europe" would happen before "the Rapture" Wish I could remember the name of the book and the author. But it's been so long since I read it, it evades me now. It might have been called "The Late, Great Planet Earth"?? I'll Google it. DC P.S. This was the title, and the author was Hal Lindsay. They also made a movie about it as well. Anyone else out there remember this as well?

3. North American Union
Here's an article from a right-wing site. (Isn't Jerome Corsi one of the swiftboat liars?)

I hate the idea. It's just another cog in the BFEE of world conquest, imho.

6. Sounds like a great idea. When will Nova Scotia apply for statehood?
'cuz there's no way I'm flying the Canadian flag and looking at the mug of Queen Elizabeth II on my money.

I guess we can have 50 stars and 13 maple leaves in the canton. A 7x9 array would work out quite nicely. But then we'd have to do that special shape for when Mexico joined, and I don't feel like dealing with it.

Let's see, add the 31 Mexican states and that gives us 94 states. For that, we'd need an alternating rows of 10 and 11 stars, starting and ending with 10.

Throw in Puerto Rico and Cuba, and we have 96. The seven nations in Central America, Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama , gives us 103. That's alternating rows of 11 and 12 stars, starting and ending with 11 stars.

Oh, and we can't forget the states of Iraq and Iran, can we? 105 states total. Alternating rows of 10 and eleven stars, starting with 11 and ending with 10.

Well, we've got a lot of integreting to do, so let's get cracking! My goal is ten new states a year, so let's get moving people! Chop chop!

9. uhh -- awhile back Nova Scotia *was* considered for statehood.
The *14th* state. This was raised by Ben Franklin and others who held land claims there.

And I doubt *seriously* that Canadian citizens will be in any hurry to become a part of the US. They don't want to look at the Stars and Stripes as their flag, or look at the US Currency. Which, btw, the new ones are looking as if the artists stole their ideas wholecloth from Canadian currency.

Ain't gonna happen. So don't go carving up another country before it's a done deal.

You'd be acting too much like Cheny/Bush etc.

12. Acting like BushCo? I'm insulted!
I challange you to a duel. Badminton at dawn... to the death!

LMAO

I would note in my defense I 'apply', which we both know they will never do, especially with the problems and leadership we have now. That was kinda my point. Hell, I'm halfway expecting California to apply as a Canadian province soon, just to deal with their health-care crisis!

If I was going to do a BushCo, I'd have to invade Nova Scotia on a flimsy and known false pretext first, anyway. Maybe to "Bring Democracy to the Nova Scotia People".

(But we already have a free democratically elected government!)

(No you don't! Now shut up! Freedom's on the march!)

15. Actually - it would help the Dems to bring Nova Scotia in
The history of their politics is WILD. They didn't stand for any nonsense -- and didn't have a second thought about pounding an opponent into the ground who disagreed with them ;-)

My family is from there - can you tell? Bush would NOT want my people here. They'd teach his furry little behind a thing or three about Democracy. I'm writing a history of the area at the moment, so I'm pretty well steeped in their *mood*.

What really worries me is the lack of reporting on this stuff. I can say honestly we have been looking into the options of taking the family back - and if this has been *in the wind*, I may have to re-think that.

And we don't DO badminton -- but I'll challenge you to a curling event, or a caber toss, as long as my son can stand on for me on the toss.

LMAO!

18. Had to look up what a caber toss is...
Well, I'm a Connecticut Yankee by birth, so I don't do curling or tossing telephone poles. I like my spinal discs right where they are, thank you very much. How about bocce ball.... to the DEATH!!!!!! <grrrrrrrrr>

Hmmmm... better work on my game face.

Anyway, about the mood... We need more people into to it, I think. I just read the new article in this weeks "Rolling Stone" by Robert Kennedy Jr, about the flaws in the black-box voting. Made me want to pull my hair out and bring a giant electromagnet into the polling places. I vote on paper, but each polling place has a touch-screen voting machine for biligual and vision-impared citizens.

I honestly think some Democratic hackers should, in those juicy red districs, insert some secret Diebold-syle code in those electronic voting machines that makes Hugo Chavez or Margaret Thatcher or Kim Jong-Il win in a federal race. People might finally say "Gee, I guess this electronic balloting is not all it's cracked up to be".

11. We will have to switch to an American version of the Euro, a north
American dollar. On the bright side, though we'll probably, due to the low value, debate using that currency or buttwipe to cleanse our assholes, we might be able to get rid of that shitty IN GOD WE TRUST and those creepy masonic images on the money. Of course, who knows what they'll substitute for it? You've got to please a number of distinct cultures....!

As for a flag, each country or territory keeps their own. We get an EXTRA flag though, for the North American Union...like the EU flag, only different....how about 94 (or 96, or 103) white stars in a circle, on a red flag? That way everyone feels included, since red and white feature in most flags around these parts.

14. Our last attempt on Canada, by the original chickenhawks in 1812,
resulted in Washington being burned without the acquisition of a single foot of Canadian territory. I trust Canada to do it again.
