Are Republicans better than Democrats at protecting America ?
Edited on Sun Oct-01-06 10:10 AM by kentuck
I think we can probably agree that they are better at selling the idea that they are better at defending America? However, the facts and reality say something quite different. Who can honestly say we are safer today than under Bill Clinton? Not only are we less safe, we are less respected and have lost any moral standing we had in the world. That is no small matter.

First of all, they point out that we have not been attacked since 9/11. However, there is no proof that they had any further attacks planned. It was not the way al Qaeda worked. They would sometimes go 7 or 8 years between attacks. That is something this Administration and the Republicans need to be called on. There is no proof there were plans for further attacks. So, to use that as evidence that we are being "protected" by the Republicans is a false security.

The sad truth is exactly the opposite of what Republicans spin about their expertise on "national security". They suck at diplomacy and national security issues. With each passing day, they are making us weaker around the world. They are tearing down our military. It's time for this truth to be told.

2. Unfortunately, perception equals reality.
It's not what you can do, it's what you can SELL.

3. The republicans are better at repeating the propaganda
What ever the subject, the Republican machine has been more successful peddling and repeating the talking point, weather they are the truth or not does not matter. Most of the time it is pure bull shit. But because they have the help of the media, it sells with the people in the country who don't bother to use their brains.

4. They're better at talking about protecting America
and they're far, far better at getting over engineered, poorly designed and over budget items approved to fatten defense corporations.

5. Jesus Christ! Look around!
We've lost:
our industrial base
our budget surplus
our wages
our moral authority
our civil rights
our international regard
2800(?) soldiers
2973 civilians on 9-11
our medical insurance

Uh, no. They're not better at protecting America.

6. The Republican party protects Americans
the same way the mafia protects small businesses.

7. With republicans in charge, I fear for my well being every day
They're oblivious to any domestic issues, and terrorism is the only thing they have to cram down our throats..When I look at the deaths in Iraq every day, which our country is directly responsible for, and all the chaos everywhere, it's hard to buy the story that the republicans are better on terror, or anything else. Nothing is being done here to protect us. I don't buy their spin.    :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:
