if they want to keep the same people in charge or if they think we need a change. We should ask: "Are you better off now than 6 years ago?" It is a cop-out to blame the present dangerous predicaments on inheritance of Democratic incompetence or just bad luck. The Republicans have been in charge of everything and they have failed America in every way.
Yes, they will try to tell Americans about how well their taxcuts are working and how great the economy is doing and how we have not been attacked since 9/11. However, most average working people and the middle-class do not perceive themselves as doing better and they do not feel safer. The Republicans are trying to convince these folks that those feelings are not justified and promise that things will be much worse if the Democrats are in charge. They hope the voters have forgotten the years before they were in charge.
