Something tells me Foleygate isn't just one about one guy. |
|
Wouldn't surprise me if other fifty-ish single males, in either the house or the Senate, were also involved. I have my suspicions about one in particular, and I'll bet some other DU'ers may too.
The only thing that WOULD surprise me is if Dems are also involved. That was the whole Abramoff defense, wasn't it? The Dems did it too!!! But not this time, I hope.

1. Hastert, Bonehead, Delay, Shimkus all knew. |
|
More are involved at least at the level of knowing and turning the other way.

9. I was thinking more along the lines of who else was in on the fun.. |
|
as it were. Maybe everyone was having fun, but maybe the pages were just doing what they thought they had to do. Learning the ropes, I guess you could say.
But enough of the double entendres.
I was thinking more on the Senate side of the Congress. And an especially scurrilous rascal, in my view. And my words were chosen with care.

I think there is a very seamy underside to the political structure in DC and this is appears to be a longstanding one with the Republicans dating back to at least the Reagan era. On another thread, it pretty much indicated that Shimkus was staging 'bidding' events for pages to win a chance to dine with Foley - very likely after he was informed that Foley had a preference for young boys.
And the idea that its limited to just one corner of the capitol, no, I would be surprised if the problem was just in the House.

It's true they did try to float the "Dems did it too" idea, but it didn't work because IT WASN'T TRUE. I'm sure they'll try something similar here, and most likely it still won't be true. Not this time, and not that time either.

4. Look VERY VERY CLOSELY at Dreier (R-CA). He is not faithful to his |

"roommate". He likes to solicit young men to come up to his room to party.
I know this for a fact.
He may be one that likes 'em on the young side.

10. Yeah I remember that now.... |

There was something here locally in SC about someone ( a local higher-up) recruiting for "call-boy" pages / interns.... for DC.... I vaguely remember something about in the papers / rumor mill... and then it blew over and went silent ....
