They're stuck in their own stinky piles of bullshit this time. It just a matter of scooping them up and putting them in the trash. The news today was devastating, they're done.

Things are going to change in big ways this November, Diebold be damned.

2. If the election were held tomorrow, I'd agree with you
But it's not. We have to wait a month to vote, and the American people are little children. So let's wait and see, and keep on working hard in the meantime.

4. It's a one-two-three punch
Woodward and the 9/11/Condi/Iraq stuff is the killer blow. Rove might try his little games, but they won't work this time. The voters are on to them.

Foley, Abramhoff, Brownie, The Lying Leadership, Rummie, et. al. (oh, including Joe Lieberman) out of a steaming pile of Bull Manure. (I wouldn't volunteer to topple it, however.)

6. I'm in favor of it
Then let's work with a will and a purpose for the next five weeks. Every Republican floundering in their ocean of lies should be properly outfitted with an anchor. And keep tossing them more. I want to see GOP candidates go down to double digit defeats all over the map. I want people so disgusted with the GOP reign of error that tarring and feathering will seem a mercy. I want the Republicans to eat dirt in November and ask for seconds. I want to see registered Republicans burning their voter registration cards. I want every Republican politician to be too ashamed to show his or her corrupt face for fear of public humiliation and shaming.

In america even those in power can't go hitting on underage boys and when caught, attempt to "contribute" $100,000 to keep things quiet.

19. This may be the beginning of the end for them, but
the Dems need to continue the charge. We need to keep reminding everyone we know that Foley isn't the only issue to think about at election time. We need to keep talking about perpetual war, culture of corruption, mismanagement in Iraq, and all the other key points that remind us all how incompetent the Repubs are.

20. Repugs will lose between 20-24 seats in the House. Remember,
many of the religious folks will stay home. (or they are working overtime to try to pay bills) so they won't bother to vote.

Actually, the Repuggers have already lost one seat this week, and a few in the leadership may announce their resignation before the month is over.

22. Damn ..... you would think, eh ? .....
Edited on Tue Oct-03-06 01:08 AM by Trajan
Dont count out the wounded yet .... If they can reach into their pocket to get their wallets, they can pay an E-Voting manufacturer enough money to steal the election ...

But hey .... It was a good day .... I still have not figured out how they are gonna deflect all this .... This is SERIOUSLY bad for them ....

I suspect the polls might drop to rockbottom for them ... perhaps 32 % of the most deluded of Americans will still support the 'Grand Ole Party' .... So they always can rely on the blockhead vote; but this hurts in different ways .... it is a serious problem for them ...

Their credibility is at stake, and they have none .... We already knew that, but now everyone knows it ....

I dont see a good way out for them ; no strategem or subterfuge able to wrench the national attention from this 'titillating' spectacle ...nothing that will convince all parties ......

ANYONE who doesnt think it is good to focus on this is simply wrong .... The GOP is getting killed on this ...... This is the proverbial 'Gift Horse' .... Say 'thank you', and enjoy that gift while it lasts ... It will die down soon enough ....

Its going to be a long 5 weeks, though ....

23. THe last serious question is
Is this the point at which we will have the mother of all national emergencies?

There is no legal way to keep baby George out of the Hague at this point.
Will George call the state of emergency, and on what pretext...
and the pretext is the concern, really.

27. I would agree, if most people that voted even read the papers.

Most people are blissfully unaware of the rampant corruption of the GOP, and the power hungry base the have. The GOP is ripe smelly party of putrid corruption, but the MSM will never say so.

28. GOP's Secret Weapon

The G.O.P.'s Secret Weapon
You think the Republicans are sure to lose big in November? They aren't. Here's why things don't look so bad to them

<snip>
Over the next few weeks, the party will begin flying experienced paid
and volunteer workers into states for the final push. The Senate
Republicans' campaign committee calls its agents special teams, led by
marshals, all in the service of the partywide effort known as the
72-Hour Task Force because its working philosophy initially focused on
the final three days before an election.

What Rove and Mehlman wanted to figure out was the code for increasing
the number of Republican voters who could be reliably summoned to the
polls--a code that, once cracked, could be used to win election after
election. "We want to turn 75%-Republican areas into 78%- or
79%-Republican areas while at the same time turning 15% areas into 18%
or 19% areas," says Mike DuHaime, political director of the R.N.C.

In the off year of 2001, the creators of the 72-Hour program tested it
in odd, lower-profile contests, including court races in Pennsylvania.
The Bushies picked clusters of precincts where they quietly tried
their new methods, then compared those with similar precincts where
the campaigns did things the more traditional way. Those experiments
helped Republicans develop a handful of precepts that constitute the
party's playbook for this fall:
