"The Smirk" Better Pray That The Dems Take Over
From what I can see, all hell is breaking loose amongst the GOP - the ostensible reason is NAMBLA Foley, but the true underlying cause is fear - the Rethugs are scared shitless that they're going to get their asses kicked next month, and they're only-too-willing to throw each other under the bus to sacrifice their own swollen asses.

If the Rethugs maintain control of Congress, it will be by a slim margin. Those Rethugs that remain will look for someone to blame for their decimation, and a way to stop the bleeding - and they'll turn to The Smirk. It will likely lead to an unholy impeachment alliance of remaining Rethugs and the small group in Congress who are actual Democrats.

By contrast, the flaming triangulators that comprise the majority of Congressional "Democrats", will be The Smirk's only chance at keeping from following Nixon's exit strategy: impeachment is too extreme for this crew - perhaps they'll ban the torture of children who are US citizens or execute some similar affront to The Smirk.

If the Rethugs lose big enough, there may be enough "Democrats" to save The Smirk. However, if the Republicans are able to maintain roughly 50% of the Congress, The Smirk will be history.

1. I'm not sure I understand...
So your saying Bush will be impeached only if Republicans maintain control, but not if Dems take over?

2. You may be right...but if the Dems win....I have a feeling
things will get bad for the Repugs really quick....do you remember when Hastert shut off the microphones on the Dems when they tried to have a committee meeting....and when the Repugs wouldn't give the Dems a real conference room and relegated them to the basement....No matter how bad the Dems have performed fighting the Reichwing spin machine....I think that the gloves will come off if we win both houses.....

4. Republicans have no idea what Democrats will do if they win in November.
I know this...I'll be tripling my efforts to get the administration impeached. I suspect that Democrats will take their cue from the constituents. I suspect that there are plenty of Democrats who will lead the fight for justice/revenge. We had these bastards on the ropes in the 80s and we let them off. This time, no mercy.

3. I don't follow your logic.
How does the current Repub history of no oversight hearings/action imply that Dem controlled congress will NOT seek ANY oversight hearings and actions?
