Sept 28, 2006 – The Shot Heard ‘round the World |
|
The shot, of course, was the Republican Congress shooting the Bill of Rights (and the rule of law).
Although heard around the world, it didn’t get much press in the US. The media is much more interested in a sex scandal, any sex scandal.
When the torture law is upheld by the Chief Justice Robert’s (Mr. Unitary Executive) Supreme Court, this Country will have a king, ironically, a King George. It is high time to dust off the Declaration of Independence.
The shot of Sept 28 was the loudest but not the first shot in the war on Democracy. Earlier shots include:
The appointment of GWB as President by the SCOTUS.
The invasion of Iraq based on lies.
The arrest and unconstitutional detainment of Jose Padilla an American citizen.
The stolen election of 2004.
The awarding of a contract to Halliburton to build detention (concentration) camps in the US for detaining dissidents.
Rendition and torture
How many shots will it take to awaken the American public to this war on Democracy, waged by the Neocon Administration and supported by the Republicans?

3. I forgot to include that some republicans have already laid groundwork |
|
for the Congress to "overrule" the SCOTUS if they don't rule "appropriately".
