Finally, the layers have been peeled off the onion and we can now see the lies, the stories, and the cover-up. It's all between the lines of the Times.

This report came just hours after Ms Rice said she did not recall the specific meeting but that it was "incomprehensible" that she would ignore such dire terrorist threats.
However, further down the article,"Mr. McCormack said the records showed that, far from ignoring Mr. Tenet’s warnings, Ms. Rice acted on the intelligence and requested that Mr. Tenet make the same presentation to Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld and Atttorney General John Ashcroft." Which is it? Did she not recall or did she request Mr. Tenet make the same presentation to Rumsfeld and Ashcroft??
And here is the final layer of the onion: "Officials now agree that on July 10, 2001, Mr. Tenet and his counterterrorism deputy, J. Cofer Black, were so alarmed about an impending Al Qaeda attack that they demanded an emergency meeting at the White House with Ms. Rice and her National Security Council staff." They were so alarmed that they demanded an emergency meeting? Why were they alarmed? And why has this information been concealed for so long? They knew the attack was coming. And the warnings were ignored. That's the final layer of the onion, folks.
Also, we must ask ourselves if the 9/11 Commission was meant to be a "whitewash". In the same article from above, "Mr. McCormack also said records show that the Sept. 11 commission was informed about the meeting, a fact that former intelligence officials and members of the commission confirmed on Monday." If the Commission knew this information, why did they not recognize the significance and importance of such statements??
But Mr. Ashcroft spoke by telephone Monday and said he never received a meeting from Mr. Tenet. "“Frankly, I’m disappointed that I didn’t get that kind of briefing,” he said. “I’m surprised he didn’t think it was important enough to come by and tell me.” One must question why Mr Ashcroft has waited so long to speak out? Especially after, that same month of July, 2001, he stopped flying commerical and went to flying private government planes?? Supposedly it was because of FBI "security" warnings? Just who is Mr Ashcroft covering up for?
It had become obvious in recent weeks that the Administration was more and more blaming the Iraq failure on Mr. Tenet. Predictably, Mr Tenet grew tired of taking the blame, just as would anyone else. In the article above, "Mr. Cheney recalled during an appearance on “Meet the Press” on Sept. 10 of this year: “George Tenet sat in the Oval Office and the president of the United States asked him directly, he said, ‘George, how good is the case against Saddam on weapons of mass destruction?’ the director of the C.I.A. said, ‘It’s a slam dunk, Mr. President, it’s a slam dunk.’ ”

In my opinion, many questions still abound. However, we can see the lies starting to finally unravel. Further, we must ask ourselves if the "sex" stories about Mark Foley were timed to distract from this bombshell in the NYTimes? After all, nothing distracts like sex and these people know it. Was Mark Foley a "sacrifical lamb"? Will Denny Hastert be the next lamb fed to the wolves to keep them away from the door of you-know-who??
