MSNBC Hastert won't resign over Foley scandal

Rep. Boner of Ohio this morning rolled Denny under the bus and
said that he told him about Foley last spring.

WASHINGTON - Despite a call from a conservative newspaper for his resignation
over his handling of a congressional sex scandal, House Speaker Dennis Hastert,
R-Ill., intends to retain his leadership position.

On the defensive
The scandal put Republicans on the defensive in the final month of a tight election campaign, with Democrats needing to pick up 15 House seats and six Senate seats to regain control of each chamber.

"Republicans can't simply "get ahead" of the scandal by competing to make the most noise in calls for a full investigation. The time for that is long past," The Washington Times said.

The newspaper called for a special congressional session to elect a successor and nominated fellow Illinois Republican Rep. Henry Hyde, chairman of the House International Relations Committee, to fill the speaker's post for the remaining three months of the 109th Congress.

3. "Pig" Hastert still doesn't realize he was only installed as
speaker because he could be easily dumped when the DeLay relay had run its course and Tommy boy could resume his rightful throne.

5. Don't let them get you down, Denny! Stay and fight!
You can prove your innocence for another 5 weeks, can't you?

Or at least implicate a few more of your cronies, i mean fellow Repukes.

Shout it from the rooftops, Denny! The microphones are on.
