Per consortium news, Pages getting emails from foley (and others?) have not come forward for fear the gop would retaliate against them and ruin their budding careers as young republicans (is that irony or what?)

http://consortiumnews.com/2006/100206.html

Another telling passage:

FEAR OF RETALIATION ALSO HAS LIMITED THE WILLINGNESS OF ADULT REPUBLICAN STAFFERS FROM COMMENTING ABOUT THE FOLEY CASE.

Incredible the power of a bunch of pencil dicked chicenhawks with no morals, no integrity. All they have is their religiously insane base.

There is nothing to fear from right wing thugs in Washington or your neighborhood.

1. It's important to remember that some Dems voted for torture because of...
...the political threat to their re-election campaigns by the Repuglicans. 12 of them, IIRC. Is that so different? The Republicans heavily rely on fear and intimidation in their own party: It's coin of the realm for them. And fear of that machine spreads to our side though, you have to invite the devil into your house.

I can't particularly castigate a group of minors for being cow-towed by fear. They're kids. Even Republican, conservative, spoiled-brat kids are still kids.

Foley and any other adults involved in this are responsible.

"There is nothing to fear from right wing thugs in Washington or your neighborhood."

That flies with me, but apparently not everyone.

2. As part of the curriculum
they were being taught the value of cow-towing and fear. Its part of the republican party playbook. And it has been on evidence for years, especially during the recount in Florida; and everytime hannity bristles up at a guest telling the truth. There are no polite engagements with these paper monsters. And they feel the need to pass on their modus operandi to the young and impressionable.

3. George W. Bush would have lived out his entire life in the shadow of
his father, never actually achieving anything other than a destroyed liver ...

4. Well he was successful
at avoiding that drug test while he was in the National Guard. And he did a nice job on the insider trading deal at Harken. So it really would be unfair of us to call him a totally worthless fucking failure. And God knows what else he did we don't know about.
