If democrats are guilty for "timing" the foley story to come out |
|
Edited on Tue Oct-03-06 02:32 PM by BOSSHOG
before the election would that not actually mean that the democrats trumped the republican party's massive attempt to cover up the man-boy sex story until after the election? And please share with me members of the holier than thou crowd, which is worse - one of your congressmen guilty of hitting on boys (and god knows what else) or you knowing about it??
- Dems did not time anything. It was an ABC news story - Republicans and their supporters don't care if republican members of congress are fucking boys, they just get concerned when they get caught. That really pisses the religiously insane off. One less vote for their agenda to destroy the constitution.

1. IT'S A FOX NEWS COVERUP!!! |
|
From the October 2 AP article:
Meanwhile, Florida newspapers -- who were leaked copies of the e-mail with the Louisiana boy last year -- defended their decision not to run stories. Both The St. Petersburg Times and The Miami Herald were given copies of the e-mail, as were other news organizations, including Fox News.
"Our decision at the time was ... that because the language was not sexually explicit and was subject to interpretation, from innocuous to 'sick,' as the page characterized it, to be cautious," said Tom Fiedler, executive editor of the Herald. "Given the potentially devastating impact that a false suggestion of pedophilia could have on anyone, not to mention a congressman known to be gay, and lacking any corroborating information, we chose not to do a story."
A Media Matters Nexis search of Fox News for "Foley and ((fox or network or FNC) w/20 (receiv! or advanc! or obtain! or acquir! or leak! or (copy or copies))" for all dates after September 27, 2006, yielded no relevant results.

6. Not to mention that the 'timing' wasn't all that great. |
|
The Vermin still have several weeks to apply a healthy dose of spin to the matter. If it were truly planned by Democrats, they would have sprung it at a time when it was too late to counter attack. We might be 'soft on terror,' but we ain't stoopid.

12. Has any "journalist" so far asked them what is their evidence for this? |
|
It sounds as if Hastert, Limbaugh, etc. are making a rather strong assertion on the basis of . . . what?

7. Who's Yelling the Loudest |
|
I saw this on RAWSTORY about Fox. And they are the ones yelling the loudest. And guess what....Foley's spokesman is on TV and he is saying Foley is not a pedophfile. He said that this is a direct result of being an alcoholic...CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS....CAN YOU REALLY BELIEVE ANYBODY OTHER THAN A REPUBLICAN WOULD BELIEVE THIS.

8. I disagree...you know the mud is coming from the R's, it always does |
|
so sling your mud first. That way, you take the lead (if you're not playing offense, you're playing defense), and the mud that was planned anyway now looks like a distraction from the Foley story.
There's no way in hell the Dems were smart enough to do this on their own. Dumb luck.

16. No, we tried that in 2004 |
|
People dismiss it as an unfair partisan attack and if they trump us with a bin laden tape, we lose it all together. This is too early to be blamed on Dems for certain, and damaging enough to sway voters and stick with those who care about this sort of thing. It'll do certain damage and even if they have something the week-end before the election, they'd have had it anyway.

We gotta fight fire with fire. And I still think the Dan Rather memogate was planted by Rove, then - surprise - revealed to be forgeries to take down Mr. Rather.
They would never hesitate for a moment to do this to a Dem member.

3. Everything the Republicans do is done to influence elections. |
|
For them to accuse Democrats of doing the same is like a thief paranoid about being robbed.

9. The short answer: Why would WE want to eclipse the NIE stuff? |
|
There is plenty of stuff this week -- especially the Woodward book with it's 'asleep at switch' revelations.
If WE were picking the timing 10/23 would have been about right.

11. Because it's a dirty sex scandal and we're dealing with the M$M... |
|
what planet do you live on?
This way you get morally outraged Dems on TV who then get to talk about the NIE/Woodward book, which they NEVER would have gotten to do without a pedophile Repub to open the door.

17. They'll play their security card later |
|
Then we'll STILL have the NIE stuff and Woodward's book to counter it with. This is taking up some air until they play THEIR "October surprise". If Dems did this and I've got no clue whether they did.

Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior has through his Holy Ghost, revealed the perversion of the republican false prophets. And God chose the time, God strikes the blow, God turns the time, and God's in the know, God will reveal them all, down to their most craven sick suffering, so we will finally, after a century of looking at it, realize God of justice did it.

13. Some of those e-mails are dated three years ago. |
|
If it was a set up by the teen aged boy victims pushed and influenced by the Democratic party (as Limpball is saying), why didn't the Democratic leadership bring this out in October 2003, when it could have influenced a presidential election? It is a bunch of lying neocons enabling pedophiles in order to win elections. The republics have known for years and have hushed it up so they could get their rocks off and hide scandals from the voters.

15. Well, one organization gave emails to the FBI |
|
in July and the FBI declined to investigate. That was obviously not the Dems' fault.
