In the Google cached page of scouts and scout leaders in Congress it shows Foley as both a scout and a leader. Ever faithful to their "Be Prepared" motto, they have already purged him.

Where did you find that? The media deserves to know. Especially because scouts are younger than sixteen, aren't they?

Upper age is 18. Lower age is flexible: 10 years old, if the kid's also finished 5th grade; otherwise 11 years old.

Exact same page, 02-571.html. But he's not on it anymore. The cache is from 09/26/06 so it's been changed very recently. Somebody jumped on that quick. Note the "S&L" notation next to his name. Note the explanation of the notations on that page:

"Note: Scout denoted by "S"; adult volunteer leader denoted by "L"; Scout and leader denoted by "S&L."

Which means he was a scout leader. Google caches don't last forever. Take screen shots and/or save the page to your hard drive. I wonder if we can find out where and when he was a scout leader?

The Mark Foley case has been referred to the Attorney General of Florida - Charlie Crist. Will Crist, widely rumored to be gay and a friend of Foley investigate the case with any enthusiasm 5 weeks before Crist tries to replace Jeb?

The Republicans ran two career politicians (Tom Gallagher and Charlie Crist) to replace the term limited Jeb Bush.

The common saying around the Capital City for years is that Gallager is a skirt chaser and that Crist wouldn't know what to do with it if he caught one.


The first part of the saying was vindicated when Gallagher had to admit during the primary to an extramarital affair during a prior marriage, that he had hidden from his current wife. Gallagher did a Jimmy Swaggart and claimed he had changed since then.

Gallagher lost badly to Crist in the primary but not before Gallager dropped a number of hints about Crist's lifestyle. Crist is not married at 50, although he was married once for "six weeks".

With the attention being brought to Florida with the sex scandal of Mark Foley one wonders if attention to Crist will follow? If the conservative vote abandons Crist then he cannot win Florida.

Unbelievable. On Foley's website, there's a list of the awards he's received, including an "Award of Appreciation" from Boy Scouts Crew 204. That's the Lake Worth, FL troop - in Foley's hometown. http://www.bsatroops.org/fl.htm.
