Shuster on Olbermann: Hastert will resign this week. |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-04-06 07:11 PM by Singular73
Shuster says that inside high-level GOP sources are trying to decide who's flying out to Illinois to tell Hastert the bad news.

Hastert wanted to protect his side, and he even kept the Dems in the dark about the Foley scandal.

I wonder who ELSE will have to go? Will it stop there and make the base happy?

...and a few pawns. I think they'll figure that is sufficient. This has nothing to do with honor and justice. This is like the scene in "Syriana" when the lawyers are deciding how many (and who) had to go. Besides, to the republicans, they have a better chance of stealing holding on to the house without Hastert. Thus, if he doesn't go, he'll lose his position anyway.

You think the conservative base will figure that's sufficient? Or just the Repubs. in congress?

Delay, Cunningham, Ney, Foley, Reynolds, Hastert it just keeps getting better and better. I wonder about "cat killer" though, how come he hasn't been forced to take a time-out.
