My $.02. . .

This cartoon beautifully shows how the republicans use the war as a devisive issue to frighten voters and win elections. They constantly remind us that we are in the fight of our lives against a new islamic fascism. The security issue can be divided into 3 parts IMO : 1. Iraq; 2. the global war on terror; 3. homeland security, including anxieties over immigration. Bush reminds us that Iraq is the key point in the war on terror. Sadly, with the turn of events in Iraq, he might be right. From what I can gather, Iraq has become a breeding ground for the terrorists. This was not the case when Saddam was in power. Saddam and Saddam alone ruled Iraq. Now, we have a power struggle between the Sunnis, Shites and the Kurds. Also, when Saddam was in power, he held Iran in check.
