It just occurred to me... with * in the WH, and Foley in Congress... |
|
...the words "Chickenhawk Administration/Chickenhawk Party" take on a whole new, richly layered depth of meaning.
Oh, yeah. I'm gonna be using that one, alright. "The Chickenhawk Party thinks getting the Bible into schools is more important than making sure Americans get health care when they need it." "The Chickenhawk Administration looked the other way while corporate robber barons made off with most of our economic infrastructure."
Works. Definitely.

2. The word chickenhawk... |
|
I always used the word chickenhawk when referring to repubs when "discussing" things with my RW brother. I could tell that this bothered him more than anything, he and our whole family served in the military. When he looked into who served little by little he has turned against the * administration. It is so funny because he now claims he was a Reagan rebub and never liked *. He has turned pretty hard because he told me the other day he is working on deprogramming his children he feels so guilty for always having rush on in the house. There is nothing these women hating, sissy boys hate more than being associated with chickenhawks. I use it all the time, great word to describe the idiots!

3. Foley's no longer in Congress |
|
but I agree with increasing our usage of the word "chickenhawk" when it comes to discussing Republicans. I use it all the time whenever I'm talking with any repukian acquaintances of mine. Drives 'em nuts.

4. For what it's worth, there may be another meaning to the word that |
|
would be pretty appropriate for the Foley situation. My gay friends used to laughingly refer to me as a chickenhawk back in the day when I was dating guys who were younger than myself. I don't know if this usage is pretty common or if it's just a coincidence that they used it to describe my dating preferences.

5. Yes. It has two-fold significance here, in describing these |
|
despicable people. And as far as I'm concerned, it's well deserved. They earned every feather of it. And I suspect some of them continue earning it - to this very hour.
