Gay Republicans: America's Newest Menace
http://vastleft.blogspot.com/2006/10/fabulous-old-party.html

WTF: "CBS News has learned that several other top Republican staffers who handled the Foley matter are also gay. Their role in this controversy has caused a firestorm among Republican conservatives...."

1. I tend to be of the opinion
that no-one should HAVE to come out of the closet, but in the case of repuke politicians I think they should be outed. Why? Because their voting against gays is the height of hypocrisy, just like politicians who are playing around sexually (the Newter sleeping with his aides while still married--the list goes on into infinity). Show them up for the liars and hypocrites they are!

5. I hear y'all re: the hypocrisy of many gay Repubs, but...
... we're seeing the beginnings of a witch-hunt.

I was especially put off by the CBS quote -- an MSM outlet reporting like they just found out that there's a cabal of Commies in the House, and it implies that these people, because they're supposedly gay, are somehow responsible for covering up the scandal.

Here's a statement from The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force:

Hey, the liberal light is always on at the Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy. Please stop by and say "hi!"

3. Anyone who cannot be trusted to act in their own best interests
Can certainly not be intended to act in mine, much less the best interests of the American people. It's like a prostitute masking herself as a nun (except prostitutes, in general seem to be more honest than gay Republican politicians).

4. Gay repubs are basically saying "It's good enough for you..."
"But I have the means to live beyond the rules". It's all about privilege with repubs and gay repubs are no different. I used to be friends with a repub who voted against legalized gambling while hitting the nearest casino every week. When I asked him how he could justify that, he said that others couldn't handle it so he was voting in their interest. I realized what he meant was that he had the means to travel further than those with less money so it was ok for him. He had similar views on drinking and pre-marital sex. Needless to say, we don't talk now.

Repubs love to make rules, they just don't think they should have to follow them.
