Jay Leno’s monologues are a good indicator of how the average person thinks about politics. Highlights from last night …
I saw LOST last night – the Democrats found themselves in a strange world: the moral high ground
The Foley scandal is being called “tailgate”
Bad week for Republicans: George Allen’s been on the front page and Mark Foley has been on every other page.
Foley says he has fondling memories of his time in Congress
Remember the good old days when the only people the Republicans were screwing were the poor?
Hastert claims he doesn’t remember being told about Foley. Really? How bad is the rest of the Republicans’ behavior when news of one of them having cybersex with underage boys isn’t that memorable?
Teachers in DC are warning children about congress. Here’s a new book they’re giving children: “Jack and Jill Don’t Go Up the Hill"!
Foley emailed one of the pages, “I’m never too busy to masturbate.” Well that’ll look good on a coin someday!
Mark Foley, he was never too busy to masturbate. If only Bill Clinton had followed that advice he could have stayed out of trouble.
They cut off Foley’s email privileges. They signed him up with AOL!

1. Leno still couldn't resist getting Clinton's name in somehow... |
|
even though the Foley scandal has nothing to do with Clinton. That is why I can't stand Leno.

Both plunk Clinton into gags so they can't be accused of bias, but it really is a stretch to drag out any Dem in this era.

4. They spent plenty of time doing Clinton gags all these years... |

I think in this instance they could keep him out of it and not be accused of bias. I don't know how it is bias talking about a current situation, it is just telling what is going on right now.

Repubs and Dems but this is a Republican scandal all of its own. When he has spent all these years still bringing up the Clinton/Monica scandal did he make sure he got a shot in about the Repubs. I doubt it.

8. I agree, and I have posted on IMDb that Leno unfairly dredges up Clinton. |

9. Leno's writers really suck, much of the time. |
|
Sometimes they get it right. At least one of them isn't hiding behind the "center is safe" crap and throws out a left of center jab at the BA.
Leno as a person isn't a bad guy. Mavis Leno, his wife, has done a lot of humanitarian work for women in Afganistan.
But most of his material is like this.
What a shame!
