Is the GOP has to spend money to preserve what they thought were safe seats so that those that they thought would be battle areas are going to be sacrificed in order to save the once unbeatable...
That was one of the main reasons the Dem's lost in 1994...
They had spend caucus money to protect their own...
Remember, Tom Foley, the Last Democratic Speaker, was defeated in 1994...
The first sitting speaker ever to lose his seat...
So, the more the mood turns our way, the more they have to spend to defend their own hides leaving challengers basically on their own...
