Are Women Smarter than Men? Looks that way! NEWSWEEK POLL
Edited on Sat Oct-07-06 06:13 PM by freesqueeze
In the latest NEWSWEEK poll, male voters favor Democrats 46 to 42 (a statistical tie) while the women come in favoring Democrats 56 to 34. How are we to account for this difference?

1> women are more anti-war than their testosterone-fueled counterparts?

2> women hold a longer grudge over being lied to repeatedly?

3> men are more tolerant of pedophile cover-up conspiracies?

4> the ladies are, on average, just smarter?

8. We need more grandmothers in the Congress
for oversight of these fools.

Some grandma Rep. was on Sam Seder this morning (I missed her name). She said this page stuff wouldn't have happened if more grandmothers had been in Congress and had oversight.

Damn straight, from this grandma of 4! Sorry if you don't like it but you know it is true!

I love it that Nancy Pelosi is a grandmother. More power to her!

21. Then why is a woman scorned compared to Hell? There'd still be wars,
they'd be sneakier and dirtier.

13. as a man
women tend to be smarter politically because they tend to be more Democratic. But married women tend to become just as stupid as men politically. Single women are the smarters. And African American women are the very smartest.

15. Some women
can be very perceptive and compassionate. I think people often miss that with politics. And women, I believe make up a larger number of voters, and not coincidentally, more college students.

But I agree with another that often times married women can be somewhat dumb and submissive and just vote the way their husband does.

16. It's male ego.
The inability to admit that you're wrong in spite of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Seen all the time.

18. That's an interesting point
Since favoring Democrats means (for so many) that you were fooled by the pre-war lies and the pre-election hype, many men would have problems.

I was w-w-w-w-w-w-w-wrong.

17. Men can get VERY stupid .........
when the ole testosterone starts flowin'. I'm a man so I can say that :)

That's what Bush's support comes down to, when you begin to muse about just how slow people have been to wake up to how bad he actually is. When he needs to pump his support, he always says essentially the same thing. "If you think the Dems are right, you're a pussy" (sorry, I know that's crude). Think about it, that's all he really says. Men respond to that kind of crap. It's dumb, but they do.

Even now, in this enlightened year of 2006, I could probably get about 60% of the men in this country to take a swing at me, to physically assault me, by doing no more than telling them the truth but using words guaranteed to challenge their masculinity. They've been trained to respond in this fashion, and it works.

Sometimes I think I've been lucky, that I somehow don't have as much of the male hormone as most men do. Then again, my teenage girls can make me act like a damned ape anytime they want to. I think they are amused by it.

Women don't respond to anyone calling them a coward generally. They just don't care about challenges like that, not the way men do. Hence the result of this poll.

19. Dem leaders are starting to rebuild their base
Women voters have always been the base of the Dem party, but they lost them in recent years by taking them for granted and ignoring issues important to them, while letting the GOP steal them away with phony issues.

Its good to see it turning around, but they still have a long way to go. Dems still haven't crafted a good message and issues platform yet for women voters and that still makes them vulnerable to the GOP.

22. Question 5: Who cares?
Last I checked all of us here at DU were Democrats and we're all very intelligent. At my school there seem to be far too many Republicans from both genders, but then again I live in a pretty conservative part of PA.
