Kerry Volunteers Out-Numbered Out-Spent Deserve A Little Respect!
I’m really tired of all the lame threads that are dismissive of Kerry supporters. We who are volunteering for Kerry have faced an unbelievable uphill battle being out-numbered and out-spent in almost every contest.

In Washington State today we are totally out-numbered on the ground. We have always been outnumbered and out-spent and have won some because our people though few in number were more knowledgeable, experienced and just as dedicated to a leader who is REALLY QUALIFIED for the job as supporters of Dean and Clark. We have had to deal with:

1. The Big-Name endorsers of Dean not just attracted more media presence to the Dean "movement,” but it helped energize Dean voters.

2. The Corporate Media and pundits filled every program discussing the near inevitability of a Dean nomination and whether the Clinton’s backing of Clark could help him block Dean when the primaries went South. There was nothing positive about Kerry, NOTHING.

3. Dean and Gephardt’s massive on the ground organizations were expected to totally swamp the caucus process even when polls showed that the people were beginning to move towards Kerry.

We won Iowa and New Hampshire through very hard work of dedicated volunteers including a lot of Vets who had never done this sort of thing before. There was no trick, but a record turn-out for Kerry. That turnout continues state to state because the VOTERS are making a choice.

One of these days it would be good to see some threads from other camps that acknowledge this so we can unite and move forward together at some point.

1. Don't you know that you're a corporate sell-out
the lack of respect for Kerry suporters here is amazing - as if we're just not enlightened enough to support Dean. Thanks for you efforts on behalf of the senator.

3. Feeling Ignored?
Welcome to our world, lol.

Oh, and since when is Kerry the only guy "REALLY QUALIFIED" to earn the nom? If you want sympathy, maybe you shouldn't diss others while complaining.

Your guy is in the coronation parade, every day we are told he is inevitable. If so, your heroic efforts were rewarded. What in the world do you have to complain about right now? DU posters dissing your sucess? I wish Clark supporters had such problems.

5. Post allows many "really qualified" candidates I think. More microanalysis

of every Kerry supporter post? Whoa.

4. I think it goes to show that the people who voter for Kerry...
are bandwagon.

I mean no disrespect to Kerry or his volunteers, but here in AZ many of my friends in the Kerry campaign told me how they were struggling to find volunteers even after Iowa and NH.

Kerry is doing well because of name recognition, the media attention and the backing of the DNC. It certainly is not a grassroots movement or a campaign of ideas.

I was at the busiest polling place in Tucson. There were a ton of Dean and DK volunteers there, and a few Edwards too. Until 3PM there was not a single Kerry volunteer or sign outside the polling place. Then a staff from the campaign came by and I think he was a little embarassed at the lack of Kerry presence so he stayed there for an hour and called two supporters to come down there so Kerry would have a presence. It was funny because I and a Dean supporter actually were helping the guy find a staple gun to put up his Kerry sign.

When voters approached us to talk about the issues, Dean, DK, and Edwards supporters couldn't shut-up, while all the Kerry people could do was recite endorsements.

22. All I can say is that
In Nashua, NH we had the greatest visibility, BY FAR, than any other candidate.

At one polling place, their was one entrance, with volunteers on either side, Kerry volunteers were in the majority on BOTH sides.

so, whatever, we don't exist

12. With all due respect to the volunteers...........
remember that your candidate's wife is a multi-millionaire several times over, why doesn't she kick in a few dollars? I don't understand.

Congrats on your hard work by the way. :)

13. Look
I despise Kerry. Sorry, but there it is. I won't vote for him. So, hate me. But, Kerry's supporters are good people, they have heart, and I admire them. Kerry supporters deserve kudos. I admire Kerry supporters, I just despise Kerry. Keep spouting your message, maybe you'll even convince me to like Kerry. I will listen, but, on policy, Dean has my vote.

15. The few, the proud, the establishment insider billionaire candidate
volunteers.

The reason you are outnumbered and are outspent is that the support for Kerry is paper thin.
