And therein lies the problem. Except for the high-profile case of Joe Lieberman, it seems everybody wants to bitch about Congress but the the majority of Americans will once again vote for their same entrenched, scandal-soaked blood suckers, and then blame all of America's woes on every OTHER Congressman but their own. It takes a village of idiots. If we are not willing to clean our own houses on the local level, we can't expect the national politics to change!

Throw every single one of them out and start from scratch. Or just count on more of the same bullshit in perpetuity.

My senators stink, and every Dem in TX thinks the same. There are a few reps here that are adequate but don't ask me to name names, and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee is a stand-out. So I guess TX is the wrong state to go by as far as Dems go.

The point of what I read was everybody HATES congress, and congressional approval is at a historic low of sub-30%...except for that in the SAME POLL, respondents said their own Congressman was doing fine, and that it was everybody else's congressman that sucked. So how does anything ever change?

We're FINALLY in a position to win something meaningful for the first time in 6 years and we see post after post advocating that we f it up? It's too late to throw out anyone who didn't get tossed out on their ass in the primary races. Just read what I wrote, and don't try to make something different out of it. I am not so much of a Pollyanna to believe that only the GOP has a skeleton or two in their closet. And, last I checked, one of the most persistent complaints on DU is that a pretty consistent group of democrats vote with Bush every time. Significant enough to have assured his agenda smooth sailing. Now, according to the poll I read this morning, less than 30% approved of the job Congress was doing, but over 60% thought their own rep was doing a good job. So, who is going to be voting out all these republicans? Where is the re-taking of both houses coming from if a wide majority of voters approve of their own critter? It's not like they'll be coming to my state to vote out Lieberman. How do people get removed from office if the vast majority of people approve of the job they're doing?

Please, you know as well as I do that there are only a small handfull of democratic Senators and reps who can truly be considered stand-outs that seem to genuinely share the concerns of both America AND the party. A very small group, imho. Don't hand me the "we're finally in a position to win something" crap. We're in no such position. We're merely in a position to make them work harder to make the theft look more plausible.

That means, to me if I'm analyzing it correctly, that we may pick up a LOT of seats. Remember, only something like 30 to 50 are in play, depending on whom you believe. The rest are going to safely keep their seats.

If they somehow broke a poll down district-by-district and determined that 60% in each district favored their own reps, then I'd be worried.

the vast majority of district are not competitive on both side. That number is actually closer to 50 right now. When the number is that low, you will see incumbent losses.
