Just back from the WA 47th district precinct caucus
and both JohnYawl and I are delegates for the Legislative District caucus. I was really hoping to be, too. It was inspiring and uplifting to see a full room for a precinct caucus. Of the 8 people present from our precinct, 6 were first-time participants. If this trend continues, it bodes very well indeed for November.

We had civil but lively discussion of the candidates and their positions. I got it on record that I came in as a supporter of Kucinich, so I made my statement for Dennis. John and I will both be Kerry delegates at the LD caucus. Because we had five delegate slots, 8 people present, and the vote was 4 Kerry, 3 Dean, and 1 Kucinich, the delegate assignment of the fifth position had to go to the majority position, so I switched from Dennis to John Kerry.

I'm very excited and happy to see democracy in action, and to be going on to the next level as a delegate.

The unofficial results for the 47th district caucus were, in this order: Kerry, Dean, Kucinich, Clark, Edwards, Sharpton. I won't give the precise figures, as we only had the unofficial tally at that time.

GO, DEMOCRATS! GIVE CRAWFORD BACK ITS VILLAGE IDIOT!!!

2. Democracy in Action!
Excellent Post. Very uplifting.

I started a Michigan Caucus post and I'm hearing about Republican cross overs - people mad about job losses.

Very encouraging!!!!

3. Just returned from the 43rd caucus
I'm a delegate too :-) and am very happy!

I was the secretary for my precinct as well. We had eight delegates altogether: four for Kerry, three for Dean and one for Clark.

More than 600 showed up at Seattle Central - so many that we had to spill out into the hallway because we couldn't all fit in the lecture hall reserved for us.

Great job to everyone who participated today! :hi: :loveya:
