1. In my neck of the woods - South Island County ... |
|
Kerry 3 delegates, Dean a solid 2, Kucinich 1 (almost 2).
A few Kucinich people were dealing for some Kerry supporters to switch over to them for a more broadbased showing of the Dem field - progressives not being marginalized as they have been in the South - in the state results. Several Kerry supporters seemed interested, but I don't know for certain if it happened. The place was LOUD!

3. I loved it out here today!!! |
|
44th district at Lake Stevens High School. 10 people from my precint. Should have been more, total turnout at the high school was around 300 I believe, but I do not estimate those numbers very well.
Met 10 GREAT Dems at my table. We produced 3 delegates for Dean and one for Kucinich. Kerry was not well received at my table, 'too establishment' was the theme I heard most. 4 undecideds became 3 for Dean and one for Kucinich. Our precinct chair was great. She will be the Kucinich delegate and she will represent him well. To hear the talk being so overwhelming energized that this appointed jerk HAS to go was exhilarating to me. War was a BIG topic. The war voted by Kerry and Edwards were not well received at my table at all. But in the end it really was ABB. We just went for Dean today. My table was the last to break up. We loved dissing b*sh and his ilk. We were and are very energized, exchanging phone numbers and e-mail addys. Talked about local issues near and dear to our Dem hearts as well.
I loved participating in this experience and networking with my fellow Dems.

5. 43rd District @ SCCC - Over 600 people! |

Great, overflow crowd! The overall delegates shook out like this (roughly):
Dean 57% (about 36 delegates) Kerry 27% (about 17 delegates) Clark 8% (5 delegates) Kucinich 8% (5 delegates)
My wife and I were both voted as delegates - me for Dean, my better half for Kucinich.
We also passed seven resolutions, including supoort for gay marriage, universal health care, Hanford cleanup, reaffirming abortion rights, and pullout from WTO and NAFTA. Almost all were unanimous... and remember, this was out of a group of several hundred!

In our precinct, we had 28 people and seven delegates. Five went to Dean, one went to Kerry and one went to Kucinich. In the neighborhood delegate count, around half went to Dean, Kerry finished second and Kucinich finished a very close third. Edwards picked up one.

8. From Skagit County--Mount Vernon central area |

I just got back from my caucus location---12 precincts had about 20 people at the last (2000) caucus. This year, 178!
We awarded 75 delegates between the twelve precincts. Here's the breakdown:
Kerry 47 (63%) Dean 13 (17%) Kucinich 8 (11%) Edwards 4 (5%) Clark 2 (3%) Sharpton 0 Lieberman 0 Uncommitted 1 (1%)
I live in Mount Vernon, and this represents about 1/3 of our city's precincts. I really thought Dean would be stronger. I didn't hurt to have Congressman Rick Larsen kicking things off!
Let's hear from some other precincts....

9. Kitsap County 26th legislative district |
|
Here are the final delegate numbers in my precinct.
3 for Dean 2 for Kucinich 2 for Clark 1 for Edwards 1 for Kerry
With 30 people in our precinct participating in the caucus, the first sign in vote was 10 for Dean, 5 for Kerry, 4 for Clark, 3 for Kucinich, 3 for Edwards and 5 undecided.
It took 5 supporters to be viable for a delegate. The undecideds parsed out their support to guarantee each candidate a delegate vote.
After the undecideds changed their support the fraction of the 9 delegates where proportioned as 2.97% for Dean (rounding up to 3)and 1.44% to each of the other candidates. There was a coin toss to determine who among the others would get either 1 or 2 delegates.
meet Babzilla: County delegate for Dean. Whoo-hoo. Rummy is Frosted was elected as an alternate delegate for Dean.

10. 703 Precinct - Port Townsend, WA |
|
3 Delegates for Dean, 3 for Kerry, 2 for Kucinich in 703rd.
Clark got 15% (21 supporters) in our precinct at first, but it wasn't 15% enough or something... All we needed was one more Clark supporter, but unfortunately several of our ranks didn't understand the process and thought they -had- to vote for one of the 15%+ candidates, so even though I convinced one undecided to go for Clark, several Clark supporters shifted their support to another candidate... Blah!
There were around 140 in our precinct, but there were 7 or 8 local pricints in attendence. There was easily 400-600 people there, far more than expected! It was great to see that! At one point, they had to move half the precinct tables outside because the room was packed and there were just about as many people still waiting to get in as there were already inside.
