Am I being paranoid about the Barbara Streisand thing? |
|
A friend and I were talking about that, and I'm sorry, but it really smells like someone put that guy up to it - think about it - $400 ticket for all this free publicity about an exchange Babs had with a heckler? He probably knew just which buttons to push. The MSM makes her look pushy and controlling. GOP wins.
Do you think that's paranoid?

1. Ms.Streisand spells it "Barbra" |
|
And it seems like she handled it quite well. Nobody upstages a diva.

3. Oh, I love her - I guess |
|
I mean, I hate how the media Howard Dean's every celebrity dem - from Whoopi Goldberg to Al Gore to Babs, any famous person who speaks out against Bush and the administration is somehow unbalanced or "hate"ful.

a set-up. Remember in 2004 during one of Kerry's stops - I forget the circumstances right now, but it was a staged photo-op with a similar aim - to make dems look bad. Those are their tactics. Heck, look how they won Florida in 2000.

7. I have no idea what you're talking about, but I've seen Ms. Streisand |
|
IRL and know a good many people that have worked with her and she is an incredibly difficult and condescending person.

He was talking about last night at Madison Square Garden and apparently there was a Bush impersonator in the audience that Babs berated from onstage, and a different audience member (the impersonator's co-operative? :D ) loudly complained, at which point Babs told off the second audience member - she later apologized, but of course, the media always makes it seem like the celebrity is the one at fault.
It just seems totally like a set-up for free publicity, make Republicans seem like an oppressed minority or something.
EDIT: Sorry, I have the story wrong - apparently, she brought a Bush impersonator out as part of her performance.
Anyway, I'm glad Babs put the complainers in their place. It's not like rocket science - she's a total Democrat.

|

13. Who cares how they "make" her look. She is packing the |
|
crowds in, sold out audiences, etc. People come to see and hear her great voice and talent. Personally, I'd like to hear one song after another as I already know she is a strong Democrat.
