CNN "gay Republican" segment triggers mushroom cloud from exploding heads |
|
This morning I had CNN on and they did a long segment on gay Republicans. Mentioned Mehlman, and many, many others. Then they did Q&A with a guy who was talking about what it is like to be a gay republican. He said there were a lot of gay republicans both in office and in support roles and that there have been for years. They just kept repeating the phrase "gay republican" over and over, wrote it on the screen under the guests' names like "John Q. Whatever - gay Republican"
I glanced out my window and saw a large mushroom cloud rising from the general direction of the Bible belt. Pretty sure it was the result of a 50 megaton explosion of freeper heads.

M. O'BRIEN: Mark Foley scandal is causing concern among gay Republicans on Capitol Hill about a backlash. Yesterday, I spoke with gay Republican, political consultant and former congressional staffer Brian Bennett. I asked him about the challenges of being gay on Capitol Hill.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP) BRIAN BENNETT, REPUBLICAN POLITICAL CONSULTANT: Certainly when I was on Capitol Hill in the '70s and the '80s for 17 years, it was a lot different than it is now. I mean, today there are a lot of gay Republicans, out gay Republicans, all over the Republican party, both in the political machinery and in the legislative machinery. So it's an easier situation than it was when I was on Capitol Hill.
I don't know Mark Foley personally, but certainly rumors were around long enough that that was one reason he didn't run in the Senate race that Martinez ran in, was that he was afraid he was going to be exposed. And so it was an open secret that the ex-congressman was gay, and that's why he chose not to run in the Senate race.... scroll to bottom of: http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0610/10/ltm.01.html

I looked at the transcript and what Brian Bennett said was "in the political machinery.." In my mind, I knew he was talking about Mehlman but he DID NOT say the name.
I thought Mehlman was an open secret. Perhaps Anderson Cooper could do an investigation. ;-)

Gay in the Republican party and that is just a tip of the iceberg of the false things the republicans have claimed to be about. Just the tip!

therefore unsuspecting and easily bamboozled. Their ignorance and propensity to vote when and for whom told make them the republicans only strength.

11. The 50 megaton explosion |
|
is already lighting up the sky in a red-blue-purple haze. Since the Foley Scandal has hit, I've been listening to and watching all sorts of reactions from repugs - from denial to gay bashing to blaming Dems. I can stretch my imagination pretty far, but I'm not quite getting how I as a Democrat made Foley play around with underage pages. I guess I didn't realize how powerful I was.
And a couple of days ago, it sounded like Rush "Limpy" almost wet his pants over the scandal blaming us for Foley's actions....because of course, it's us damn evil, twisted liberals who are to blame for everything. Someone please pass that man a fact sheet. LOL And I will assume the bible belt would like to hang a few folks over this mess.

to join our club. You can't just become "gay." You have to be voted in by the members of the Gay Agenda. I don't see much chance for any of them. Maybe they can be eskimos or something and join some other oppressed group.
