I wanted to be Idiot Son of an Asshole, but the registrations forum says that user names can have 30 characters, and yet I'm only allowed 20.

Oh well...:-)

Thanks...

7. Welcome to du
Can you believe that Sharpton got 22,000 vote in South Carolina! That is just amazing - all of it without spending on advertisements or publications.
There is something, many things, actually, lacking from the Democratic party. Al rounds us out quite nicely.

His endorsement would be gold for any of the candidates vying for the second spot verse Kerry.

9. Good luck to Al in MI.
After a couple of candidates (not naming names)who were supposed to just didn't show up in Detroit for the debate, I feel like he deserves some delegates.

He helps keep us real.

10. You should say who it is...
It's not mindless candidate bashing: It's valid criticism.

11. There were three empty chairs.
Several threads on this.

All I know is that my candidate didn't commit to go and then not show up.

14. best to the guy who showed up in Detroit
I refer here to a couple of days ago when four candidates committed to a forum and all but Sharpton dropped out. My sympathies for him shot way up.

note: This subject line is not intended to imply that over the course of the entire campaign he was the only one who came to Detroit. It refers only to the forum.

15. It might have payed off.

The last chunk of returns from MI has Sharpton making a major jump to the fourth, going up 2 points... That reflects a lot of support in just a small group of precincts.

edit: lookup the actual change

18. Detroit may become a problem. Black leaders wanting new elections

LANSING, Mich. (AP) — The leaders of four black statewide groups may challenge the results of Michigan's Democratic caucuses because some caucus sites weren't open or had been moved, Michigan Democratic Party Black Caucus Chairman Derek Albert said Saturday.

"We feel very strongly that African-Americans were disenfranchised today. ... You had people running from site to site looking for where they could vote. ... We're calling for a new election," he told The Associated Press.

Congratulations Al & Sharpton supporters! Great showing and I hope, if the Black leaders in Detroit have their say, that it will be even stronger!

19. Sharpton's been working over time in Michigan
To get people out to vote, no matter who they vote for.

And now this.

I'm glad this thread is here. It is encouraging. Sometimes I feel like I'm a one man band on the Democratic Underground, standing up for the one candidate who has always stood up for me and my people.

20. I'm glad the thread is here too.
I am sad, though, that only a dozen people have contributed to it this past day, especially since Sharpton has gotten some Michigan delegates, regardless of the fallout from yesterday's caucus.
