Say it isn't so, Cindy Sheehan!
My freeper "friend" is at it again. I received an e-mail from him stating that Cindy Sheehan's son's grave remains without a stone because Cindy's too busy gallivanting around the country, bad-mouthing our President. The message includes a picture of Sheehan (that has to be photoshopped) leaning her head on the back of Jesse Jackson with a facial expression that looks like some love-sick teenager that had a couple of brewskis.

Is it true about her son's grave? Is it from her neglect?

You guys have come through for me in the past. What's the scoop on this one?

Thanks in advance.

P.S. -- In response to my "friend's" previous e-mails, I've told him he's so full of shit he could keep all of the farmland in Texas fertilized for a year. He's apparently not amused by my skepticism of his political messages.

1. That doesn't even deserve a response.
Why isn't your freeper friend in Iraq, dying for his Fearless AWOL Leader?

Cindy Sheehan's work to end this war IS a monument to her son -- and to all our sons and daughters that have DIED FOR BUSH'S LIES AND FOR HIS CRONIES.

Geezus Christ on a trailerhitch.

16. Ditto what sfexpat2000 said! Who ever had a better war monument
or burial plaque than Casey Sheehan's mom's fight for peace?

3. Here ya go
"The elegant marble slab is thick and emblazoned with a cross and delicate thickets of trees on both sides.

"Our Casey," reads an inscription on the front. "Ever faithful, kind, and gentle, good son, beloved brother, brave soldier, dear friend, you loved your family and lived your life serving others to the end." Six icons grace the other side, representing a military insignia, the theater, Eagle Scouts, Van Halen, the World Wrestling Federation and Superman."

22. and more from snopes about why she didn't want one

"It is important for the rest of Casey's family to have one," she wrote. "I guess the pain of seeing it etched in marble that he is dead is another pain I will have to deal with."

Again, her business. Her right to grieve the way she sees fit.

28. Also, she's set up crosses for hundreds of soldiers
including her son's, which was then driven over by a freeper in a truck.

6. Doesn't the son have a father? He's the one at home.
Sounds like he's the logical person to take care of anything like that, if it needs to be.

But personally, I think what Cindy is doing is by far the more important tribute.

8. If there is no headstone,
what would that mean? Could it be that if there is no headstone, then freepers won't be able to desecrate it? Could it be that, like so many of us, her grief does not yet allow her to sit and think about what would be the best headstone for his grave. I know it took my Mom over a year to even talk about looking at headstones after my Dad died. Then it took another 6 months to narrow her choice down to two different ones. Needless to say, it was almost 3 years before the stone was actually in place.

Put yourself in her place for a moment and then you can answer the idiot questions all by yourself!

11. great answer
My father died more than a year and a half ago and we still don't have the headstone done yet. There are lots more important things to worry about.

9. so
IF THERE IS NO HEADSTONE, IS IT ALL CINDY'S FAULT. DIDN'T CASEY SHEENAN HAVE A FATHER. Or since he and his family are republicans are they exempt, seems like no matter what happens the republicans never hold each other responsible for anything do they.

12. Even If It Is True, So what?
...and if she does love Jesse Jackson, what's the big damn deal? Wouldn't your freeper friend have that same lovesick look on his face if he were cuddling up to Ann Coulter? (Ewww, she is *not* Jackson's opposite, though he actually has a heart and she doesn't /` and the very thought anyone would "cuddle" up to that skeletal witch is enough to make one puke, but I digress ...)

A headstone is expensive and after all, if Casey had not died for A BUNCH OF OUTRIGHT LIES, would she need one right now? No! Perhaps the governemnt needs to pay for a headstone, after all, they killed her son, why shouldn't they pony up the money for one?

This is just a few things I would haver to say to this nimrod.

My 2 cents

When she's ready to put a stone up she will. Or maybe she won't put one up at all. It's her choice and none of anyone else's business.

25. I just caught up to why this emailer makes me angry. He's not just going
after a war protestor. That motherfucker is attacking a war mother, a woman who buried her own son, attacking her about how she grieves for the death of her child. I expect war supporters to scorn our expressions of opposition to the war. That's democracy; that's fair game. But what kind of scum attacks a woman for how she grieves for the loss of her son's life?

That is beneath despicable.
