Republicans who have commented that the war is not going well?

I'm going to counteract this guy who wrote into our newspaper basically saying that the war in Iraq can't go well because of the democrats here harping on how terrible it is... and in his words "as to the war, we're too close to quit" lol seriously insane!

I know there has been bi partisan reports lately and republicans who have finally admitted things aren't going right. I want to write something good... something using facts. That's the thing about the republican philosphy lately, they can't use fact to back up their claims because there are no facts to back up their claims.
