Our whiny president
So President Bush isn't just an idiot. Turns out he's also a baby:
President Bush finds the world around him increasingly "unacceptable."

In speeches, statements and news conferences this year, the president has repeatedly declared a range of problems "unacceptable," including rising health costs, immigrants who live outside the law, North Korea's claimed nuclear test, genocide in Sudan and Iran's nuclear ambitions.

Bush's decision to lay down blunt new markers about the things he deems intolerable comes at an odd time, a phase of his presidency in which all manner of circumstances are not bending to his will: national security setbacks in North Korea and Iraq, a Congress that has shrugged its shoulders at his top domestic initiatives, a favorability rating mired below 40 percent.

But a survey of transcripts from Bush's public remarks over the past seven years shows the president's worsening political predicament has actually stoked, rather than diminished, his desire to proclaim what he cannot abide. Some presidential scholars and psychologists describe the trend as a signpost of Bush's rising frustration with his declining influence.

In the first nine months of this year, Bush declared more than twice as many events or outcomes "unacceptable" or "not acceptable" as he did in all of 2005, and nearly four times as many as he did in 2004. He is, in fact, at a presidential career high in denouncing events he considers intolerable. They number 37 so far this year, as opposed to five in 2003, 18 in 2002 and 14 in 2001.
Here's a sneak peak at next week's headline: Bush takes ball, goes home.

1. "Unacceptable?" That's the word we used to use on our 3 year old...
...before we'd give him a "time out." Maybe Little Dubbie needs a "time out." Like, for the next two years!

14. Nice photoshop. Cah someone photoshop DUHbya in Little Lord Fauntleroy's
little blue suit?

While he finds so much of the world intolerable, DUHbya should ask himself how intolerable it is for people in Iraq...even though the asshole had the gall to say the people of Iraq have an ability to "tolerate violence" in pursuit of (American-style) freedom and democracy.

Well, I hate to reply to MYSELF, but I'll add this article to the evidence that our president is, quite simply, a big baby.

12. Ironic isn't it
* is pissed off at an incompetent Congress, because they make it nigh on to umpossible for his incompetent Administration to get anything done.

Please, please, please can we see Lord Pissypants go apeshit nuts in front of the cameras (complete with foot stomping and a couple "I won't and you can't make me's")? I know, "I'm the Decider" was good, but not freeper-proof. I want to see pouting and rage and some F-bombs.

7. "The Princess Bride"
For some reason, this article makes me think of the Wallace Shawn character in the movie "The Princess Bride" repeatedly screaming "Inconceivable!" every time one of his plans falls through.

9. This nails it.
He is a big whiny brat!
The media have coddled him, by saying things like, "Bush is suffering in the polls" "Bush's national agenda has been hurt by the aftermath of Katrina", etc, etc.

I have never before seen a media so eager to say Poor widdle pwezident! Nobody wikes him!

WAAAAAAA!

16. Exactly!
If WJC was still in office, it would be "Clinton poll numbers lower than slug slime and deservedly so" or "Slick Willie's failed agenda kills helpless kittens."

Has there ever been a more mollycoddled juvenile at the wheel???

19. You know
I find a lot of his administration's policies "unacceptable" and I think it is time for a "time out", like permanently. If Bush had any integrity as a person and a Christian (his claim) he would do what's right for the country and repent and resign. He's been whining about the "hard work" since day one. His petulant attitude reminds me of "A League of their Own" when Tom Hanks says, "All I have to do is go out and wave my little hat...".

I miss Clinton...he seemed so into it and energized with the job.

20. A non-comic take on "unacceptable"
It seems to me that Boy George uses the term "unacceptable" in cases where he wants to express his displeasure, or wants to LOOK like he is displeased, but knows he can't, or WON'T do anything at all. North Korean nukes - "unacceptable." Social Security money inaccessible to him - "unacceptable." But of course, he has no options but to accept. He just talks to look like he's doing something, and gets camera time.

As I reread the article, Renton makes mostly that point.

23. next week's headline: Bush takes ball, goes home......
we could only be so lucky.

Maybe that is going to be his next strategy; declaring that since the country has lost faith in him he is just going to quit and put Darth Vadar Dick in charge, all the while hoping that there would be some outcry begging him to stay and lead us through these difficult times....how we're sorry for ever doubting him.............Boy is HE in for a big disappointment!

27. Oh, speaking of whining:
Mike TheWhine(Repuke Ohio) just got his ass totally kicked in a debate with Sherrod Brown (Democrat Ohio) this Friday evening. When Democrats and the Repugs go face to face, the Republicans don't stand a chance. That's why they avoid actual debate and attack so much. :toast:

31. World Doesn't Think Much of Bush Either!
If U.S. press actually covered stories meaningfully, Americans would see the rest of the world doesn't think much of Bush at all. Stories not covered in American press today
- UK inquiry says US troops "unlawfully" killed British journalist
- His widow says US troops acted like "trigger-happy cowboys"
- Original 2002 BBC article on Bush releasing funds to N Korea and allowing them to bypass inspection requirements!
- al Qaeda forming coalitions with other Islamic terror and militant groups, what we feared most --Guess we're not safer, but why isn't US reporting this stuff?
