GM denies Sean Hannity is a spokesman for them |
|
I wrote them after seeing a thread here on DU. To my astonishment, they have responded withn a (topic-specific generic?) email. Here 'tis:
Dear xxxxxxxx Family,
Thank you for your feedback and comments.
GM is a prominent advertiser in America and to tell our story we advertise across a tremendously wide array of media trying to connect with all customers irrespective of ethnic, religious or political affiliations.
The current promotion on Sean Hannity's program is not intended to create controversy or support for any political view. Rather, it is designed to generate interest in our world-class lineup of vehicles. Sean Hannity has not been hired as a spokesperson nor is he receiving compensation from GM.
Again, we appreciate your views and thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Sincerely,
General Motors Executive Customer Assistance
#Subject=re Hannity: I've been a GM owner for 30 years - until now.

Rick, I have owned GM vehicles since I was a teen. We have purchased new over 25 different GM vehicles over the last 30 years, and own four today. We will trade them in asap. and will never own or buy one of your products again. Your use of the bigoted hate-monger Sean Hannity to advertise your product was a mistake we will never forgive you for. good riddance,
The xxxxxxxx Family

3. We really do need to support our union made automobiles |
|
GM vehicles are built in union factories, while the Japanese are non-union and don't pay their employees near as well as GM and Ford. Also, the Japanese companies don't really treat them that well either. I know cause the Toyota plant in Georgetown is nearby and workers complain about the management all the time. So really think twice about buying foreign. By not buying American, it hurts the union worker more than the execs.
