Is there a source for cheap or free generic Democratic campaign
signs? Here's the deal, I spent two hours sign waving for Samm Simpson the grass roots, tight budget candidate for Congress in FL-10. None of her signs say "Democrat" in letters large enough to read from a car at a busy intersection. With all the polls saying that people want to vote for Democrats and all the Repuke candidates around here hiding their party affiliation on their campaign materials I think this is a huge problem. If we had some signs that said "Vote Democratic" or something similar to wave along with Samm's signs it would be a huge help to this campaign. If I can't get the job done this way, I am going to be here tomorrow night begging for money to get some signs printed, so if you have any resources you could point me to, please do that. Maybe there are some signs out there left over from conventions or something. Anything that says Democrat or Democratic and is big enough to be easily read at a street corner sign waving would do the trick. Thanks in advance.

2. I can do that Monday. It seemed like I was the only person at the
sign waving that saw this as a problem. Thanks for the suggestion.

3. Another idea might be adhesive labels.
You can get them in almost any size, pre-cut. If you have any friends (or kids, or students) with a bare minimum of graphic design skill, you can just run the adhesive sheets through a PC printer, then peel off the individual labels and add them to signs you already have.

I did a quick check online and here's the first (and only, but probably typical) result:

http://www.onlinelabels.com/OL700.htm

4" x 1.75" inch labels (12 to a sheet) are $16.95 for 100 sheets, for plain white. Color labels are available but quite a bit pricier. You might want a larger size but then you get fewer to a sheet. I imagine 8 x 1.75 inch labels would be roughly the same price, but then you only get 600, not 1.2k.

It might take you an hour or two to modify your signs, but for not much more than twenty bucks (don't forget shipping cost), you could make a custom-designed, high-impact visual statement on hundreds and hundreds of signs.

(And by the way, way to go! I've been a door knocker/literature-hander-outer a few times. Most recently for Congresswoman Gwen Moore -- yay!! -- from the fightin' fifth district of Wisconsin, and as a somewhat shy/tending-toward-non-intrusive person, it required a serious degree of commitment. Thanks for your work, and best of luck in the campaign.)

7. I will pass that on. I am a transplanted Wisconsinite myself.
Lived in Greendale, Madison, Thorp, Two Rivers, Sun Prairie and Manitowoc at various times before moving here.

I just got a great idea while making out my bills to send out. I had some leftover Democratic donkey return address labels sent to me with a donation request. I was using them to put on all my bills to send out when I also decided to write in large letters VOTE DEM!! :) on the backs of all the envelopes! I thought that this was a good way of campaigning cheaply!

5. Democratic National Committee
sent such a sign to my mother for some reason - as if people in Oakland CA need to be TOLD to vote for Barbara Lee. :)

So I swiped the sign and am displaying it in my car here in TX. Wonder if the DNC could send you one too?

6. Need like a hundred. I will contact them Monday. They have
been of little help to the campaign so far, too much of a long-shot.
