4. The Republicans really think I'm about to change my mind and vote Burns
They waste probably a dollar a day sending out letter sized full color shiney brochures about how Jon Tester is going to raise my taxes (assuming I make over $200,000/yr which almost no one in Montana makes); how Tester hates the Patriot Act (even though several Montana cities have passed resolutions condemning the Patriot Act and a solid majority of Montana lawmakers of BOTH parties oppose the PA); and how Burns is the least corrupt person in the entire country and wasn't influenced by Abramoff at all (even though he'll probably end up in jail for accepting bribes).

Let them waste their money, we know better.

8. The Reynolds you're talking about, is the Page-Program Reynolds right?
Edited on Sat Oct-14-06 08:50 PM by DinoBoy
If so, he's in serious trouble according to most polls, which is probably why he seems so desperate. I think people in your district are starting to know better.

9. Pick up a copy of the new Vanity Fair - George Clooney on
the cover. Inside - an article entitled Letter from Montana. It is about the removal of all protections for wild horses that Senator Burns inserted into a 3,300 page budget appropriations bill as everyone else was headed off for a long weekend. Inserted at the deadline and had no legislative or public debate.

In fact, someone from the Government Printing Office tipped off other legislators but it was too late.

Share it with your friends if they have not seen it.

It will make you cry. The symbol of our American West being rounded up, slaughtered and sold as steak in fancy restaurants overseas. Before I read this article I just thought he was sort of light weight - now I know he is evil.

Would like to slaughter Burns, grill him slowly and then let the crows eat him.

Warning - pic of Goofy Burns on page 224 of the magazine.

10. I will pick it up
Believe it or not the Horse Slaughter ammendment made a lot of press here, and a lot of people were pretty unhappy about it.

11. This is a long and good article.
The BLM management/controls are convoluted.

Article really will make you sick as it describes the treatment of burros and mustangs.

Maybe I overreact - I am a horse lover. Nah. Honest to God - Burns is from Missouri originally and I think that could make a difference in one's reaction to Montana and other points West.

12. He has lived in Montana for a good 40-50 years
which nullifies his "not from here" problem somewhat. Now the fact he's a senile old fool.... that just pisses people off.
