Haster 52% Laesch 42% Hastert could lose!

Their October 8-10 poll has this as a 10 point race. If Hastert could be beaten it would be sweet justice for Speaker Foley who lost in 1994 and quite a kick in the ass for the Republicans.

1. The October 8-10 poll is a world away
from reality. Hastert should be dumped.

2. It went from a 30-point race to a 10-point race virtually overnight.
Here's hoping the trend continues.

3. Sorry guys, but Hastert isn't going to lose this race..
John Laesch who is running against him is a good candidate, but he's not getting any help from Rahm Emanuel and his money machine.

What you don't realize in Illinois is this: the Pukes and the Cook County Dems work together. They trade off seats with each other and have for years.

Take for instance my congressman, Dan Lipinski. The only reason this cipher is in Congress is because his father, William O. Lipinski literally "left" his seat to him. "Bungalow" Bill ran unopposed in the primary in March, 2004 and "suddenly" decided in August, 2004 that he wanted to retire. What did the Cook County Democratic committemen do in August 2004, they decided to let "Danny Boy" run in his father's place. Needless to say the Republican challenger was a total nobody from Cicero, IL who didn't even campaign in 2004. Sonny won in a walk even though he hadn't lived in Illinois for years. He was a political science professor in Knoxville, TN before he moved "back home" and decided to run for Congress.

Bottom line, Fat Denny brings a lot federal money into the state and a lot of it gets handed to the Dems in Cook County. Rahm Emanuel, Rich Daley and the rest of the boys aren't going to bite the hand that feeds them.

Do I agree with this? No, I think it's absolutely disgusting, but it will take major changes for this kind of collusion to stop happening and it ain't gonna happen soon.

5. you make it
totally sound like the big wigs decide elections though. can't there be enough non-politic types out there that refuse to vote for Denny because of his, what they perceive as disgusting behavior, added to the Dems and Indies who could possibly push Laesch over the edge barely, and I know it's not likely, but again, you make it sound like they determine who wins. Only if vote rigging occurs in modern-day Illinois would that be possible. Denny 7:5 odds he wins, but Laesch sure will be a lot closer than anyone thought, even a week ago I suspect.

8. Sorry to burst your bubble, but as much as there still is a
Democratic machine in Cook County, there are Republican machines in DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake and McHenry Counties in IL as well.

It's not as obvious as it was during the 60's and 70's, but believe me, there are people that live in these places in IL that know that their livliehoods depend on how they vote.

I'm not just talking about City of Chicago or Cook County workers. The intimidation extends into the suburbs and exurbs as well. You don't think the Republicans don't hassle small or medium size business owners in the outlying counties to donate money and time to their candidates election efforts?

While I can't prove this, I'm absolutely sure that there are people in Fat Denny's district that are totally disgusted with him, but because of intimdation by their neighbors, friends and work colleagues (for lack of better word) would be scared sh**less to even put a John Laesch sign in their front window, let alone in their front yard.

God forbid if someone in your family became disabled and needed help getting SSI or help from the VA, the first thing all these thugs (Dem and Puke) do, is talk to the local precinct captain. If he/she says, well in 2004 they had a Kerry sign or a Bush sign in their yard, in their house or on their car and the "powers that be" didn't like, you're screwed.

Doesn't matter if you're wrong or right making a claim, you just didn't vote the way they wanted, whether it be in a closely contested Senate, Congressional, Gubernatorial, etc. race.

These people have very long memories. They don't forget anything.

9. Hopefully they'll do what they did with Rostenkowski in 1994
No GOP help at all to Flanagan the Repub candidate, then polling showed Rosti in big trouble. Big Repub $ into the district helping Rosti to lose in an upset.
